F150 Soon?
Hello friends,

I had two questions, I ordered a Regular Cab F150 about two weeks ago, (I live in Boston and that is all the space I have for parking) and I am pretty sure production hasn't started yet, and there were two things I could not find in my build and price tool when I was going through that process.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get factory heated seats and the trailer mirrors on a regular cab build? ANd on the tow mirrors, would it still have the 360 cameras in them?

I ordered

Regular Cab/6.5 bed
301A Mid
Trailer Tow
FX4
Co Pilot Assist 2.0
360 Camera package (required for Co Pilot Assist 2.0)

Thanks for any help.

There are A LOT of "options" we sacrifice when ordering a RCSB.

I would have LOVED to have a 12” screen (although it seems a lot of people are having problems with them).

I would have LOVED to have “Pro Power”.

As you’ve noticed… I could go on & on…

I don’t know about “Tow Mirrors” but the 360 degree camera system with the MAX Tow package is going to make that a non-issue.

Although… the tiny mirrors DO suck! Except when navigating tight spaces. Then it’s kind of nice not having to worry about ripping your mirrors off. Maybe you can add them after market but I don’t know how that’s going to work with your mirror mounted cameras.

I bought my RCSB specifically for “towing”.

I put the Decked drawers in my bed with a solid Tonneau (100% water PROOF)
Ford F-150 Regular Cab F150 - Factory Heated Seats and Trailer Mirrors? Tonnaeu
...because you can’t store anything in a RCSB and I never plan to haul anything in the bed of my truck.
THAT’S what the trailers are for!

And GOOD LUCK breaking into my truck to steal my stuff! (now that it's LEGAL to do that)

So I have plenty of room to keep the crap you would normally find behind your seat or piled on the back seats of your truck (advertisement for thieves) while having a full size pickup with the turning radius of a sports car. (Not to mention parking!)

And if you ordered the 5.0 ...as I have posted before, BEWARE!
You have a pickup truck with a Mustang engine that weighs about 400lbs more than a Mustang.

...you're gonna LOVE IT!

Ford screwed over reg. cab buyers and hamstrung it in many ways, some are absolutely shameful; like only offering the obsolete Edison bulbs for single cab trucks.

My truck was just under $50,000 MSRP, meanwhile the Maverick has LEDs standard across the board starting at less than half the price.

Do wish Ford would have offered a few more options like Led's, heated seats and steering wheel, but I guess they think regular cabs are only for fleets. At least you can still get one with the V8.

Seems like Ford only cares about profit margins instead of a happy customer. Which is the american way but they could have easily done both. I would have paid more to get all the options that I wanted.
And don't get started on dealers that used to have lots filled with four doors 2-3 years ago without a single cab in sight unless it was a stripped fleet truck that they specialised in.

One may disagree, but I suspect Ford Corporate has a very good handle on the notion that the latter has significant bearing on the former.

I also suspect they know "you can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time" so employ extensive and ongoing market research to strive for as high a % of 'happy customers' as they can while balancing profit (Corporate health, which is a benefit to customers as well as shareholders). We note that option offerings often are adjusted, probably in response to that market research and balancing act.

... they could have easily done both.
Not so easy as you might think ... even in the highly automated and efficient arena of modern inventory management and production technology, maintaining the capability to deliver options that are very rarely selected can have a disproportionate cost, and that has to be eventually borne by all stakeholders, both customers and shareholders.

Comments offered just for your consideration. :)

Something sounds like my sister, arguing for the sake of arguing. Options that are rarely selected? Those same options are installed in every other truck out there. Leather seating? Not so special. 12 inch production screen? Same dash as the other trucks.

It's just a matter of organization. And the fact that it isn't offered in a 2 door boils down to the fact that the profit margin isn't there.

Like said. The american way. Sure they have spent a lot of money to figure out what the people want and how they can make the most profit.

Damn... do you work for Ford or something? I haven't heard so many buzzwords and catch-phrases since Sun tried to sell us a new database server...

I know. You cant even get the Lariat option on a swb reg cab. At least the 2021s and 22s XLT come with leather steering wheels. As far as heated seats you may check with a vendor thst installs leather seat covers and the may possibly have an aftermarket heated seat kit that can be installed
