My brother has a 2016 Corvette he bought new and loved..but unfortunately his knees are getting much much worse (71 this year) and after I found out Granger is offering new Jeep Gladiator orders at well below invoice he's seriously considering getting one. I helped him speck out a nice Sport with leather and tow package for under $48,000.00 MSRP and he's asking the wife tonight.
We both think it would be WAY cool to fly together to Iowa and pick them up!

What 3/5 drop and helper bag did you go with? Got VAS 3/5 and IHC Helper bag ordered right now for my '24.

IHC Ride quality kit.. I put 35 bags of mulch back there and with 35psi in the bags it didn’t sag at all . normally have like 12 for every day use. Vas ,IHC, Ride tech all make good kits for these trucks. Yea this is my Mustang that I can put mulch and stuff in .

I know I want to drop mine (when I get it home) but absolutely want great ride quality. I'm looking at the 2"- 4" Ford Performance drop as I 'think' it will maintain the factory ride. Yep...a Mustang with a really really big trunk (one piece painted to match tonneau cover and bed rug) seems like a very practical daily driver.
I too think we will see a researgerance in the popularity of single cab trucks as the cost of extended cabs gets to be unaffordable to many people. We can ONLY buy new what is offered and the big three US makers and Japan have deliberately limited availability and trims for regular cab trucks. It's not just inflation that is driving up the cost of older single cabs..But I need and want the newest safety tech.

Many companies won't make single cabs anymore and some only for work trucks.

With all the large trucks costing a ton of gold why is it I never see one with no more than the driver in them or only the husband and wife? I think it is the macho male "mine is bigger than yours" syndrome.?

You do realize that if I drive my 15 passenger van on an errand or to work, then you would see 1 person in the van.
So would that mean I just have an ego for a big van?
Why would I have a vehicle with more room for passengers than just the driver?

I guess everyone with a RCSB should be riding motorcycles? ?

Sorry, couldn't resist. Lol

If for no other reason than cost sales of regular cabs will go up this year. But I DO think the success of the Sleeper concept and all the dealership 'special' Lightning editions are putting together are part of the reason too..
Typically a dealer will add side exhaust, paint the grill, leather seats a 3"-5" drop and wheels and tires with a few other low cost graphics marked up quite a bit.. Next year I think Ford will have some kind of Limited Edition trim package for the regular cab.

A lot of us have kids. I need room for 4, but can't have a different vehicle for every day of the week.

Chili.. You are the reason Ford makes extended cabs. But many do not need the extra seats and the Regular cab works great for us. But cost is now becoming a bigger factor too. I personally believe some folks will give up 4×4 this year and especially next year to some extent for the same reason.
Prices are fast approaching a point for for a decent percentage (10-20% maybe?) of people who like buy and drive F-150's who a $900.00 to $1,300.00 monthly payment is not practical and THAT segment will move to Regular cab lower trim and non four wheel drive trucks. Especially if only a new truck will do. I was sticker shocked in December when I first priced new trucks..all brands lolol! When I got a quote for a 2024 XL Regular cab short bed (from Granger of course) it actually seemed reasonable compared to any other vehicle period I looked at or consider owning. I simply was not/could not spend $50,000.00 or more no matter how many features, options or seats it had.

I don't think many CrewCab owners fault anyone for choosing a Regular cab. Especially if a 2-seater is not going to be an issue.
And although it wasn't you specifically that suggested it, implying that buying a truck with more than 2 seats is a...... shall we call it a signalling move(?) is just silly.

I'm glad Ford still chooses to offer choices that others are no longer offering. And I really like that if you want a Regular cab you can get it nicely equipped. I even find the 2024 Regular Cab tempting.

I truly admire the King Ranch and higher trims! And truth be told I might buy one if I could really afford it. My last truck was a 2006 SRT-10 Quad cab I kept for 3 years till the extended warranty ran out before that a 2005 half ton long bed Quad cab Dodge with the Hemi and in 1996 I bought a new Ford Super Cab. But my last new and current one is a 2015 Honda Fit..And I want to go back to a Ford truck.
I just don't need a extended cab or even 4×4 and fortunately the XL has every single important feature I want. I think it is a bargain..
Edit: Snakebitten if you get a quote from Chip..

Everyone buys what they actually need, want to drive, or cares to pay for. I'm cool with that.

I don't see regular cabs making a comeback. If that were the case manufactures would be on top of it, pumping them out. Instead they continue to limit options or drop regular cabs and make Limo cabs instead. Yes, they sort of rig the market in their financial favor by doing this, but people buy 'em and obviously like 'em. I'm cool with that. This makes the dwindling amount of nice regular cabs on the road look more and more unique. I'm cool with that too.

Reg cabs lose a higher % of their value, which ltimately may be a lower doaller amount. Buy what you want, as the sweet taste of the a deal wears thin if it's not the right deal; for you.
