I'm waiting on mine (2 wheel drive)and now that a few of y'all have received your truck I'm hoping you can answer a few questions.. I'm getting the base XL and wanted to know what kind of spare tire and wheel came with yours? Is it a temporary tire and rim or matching to the other 4?
Did you get a hood insulation blanket or under hood light? I know probably not lolol!
With those of you with the 103-A package how do you turn on the fog lights? I absolutely are going to add them to my truck and don't know how big of a deal it will be. I'm hoping it's a easy plug and play and I won't have to get a new harness or add a aftermarket switch.
I'm wondering exactly how capable the factory tow hitch is and how much cargo I can realistically carry and tow as equipped by Ford. There is very little practical information out there on Regular Cab short bed 2 wheel drive towing since most folks who plan to tow drive extended cabs or at the least 4 wheel drive. Can you post a picture of the factory load range sticker in the door?
I'm also curious exactly how much room is in-between the seats (adjusted all the way back) and the cab wall? Can the drivers seat be reclined to touch the cab wall? Years ago a regular cab had quite a bit of room but not now. This might be obvious but does the drivers and/or passenger seat move indepently of the middle seat?
Thanks for your input!

I just got my 2WD reg cab last week. Really loving it so far. I’ve already started modding mine - Catback, CAI, wheels, & tires.
I’ll answer what I can for you. Not mine has the 101A package and not the 103A package. And is Anti-matter Blue.
Spare tire - mine has a temporary spare on a black steel wheel.
Under Hood - no blanket insulation. I don’t think a light either, but not 100% sure on that one.
Fog lights - 101A doesn’t have them
Cargo & Towing - my sticker shows 1852 lbs. Towing is 9000 lbs per the specs on the ford site.
Seats and back space - yes the seats can recline and touch the back cab. I’m 6’1” and sit with the seat back maybe 1-2” from touching. So plenty of space for me. The space behind the seat is appx 8-12” depending on how you adjust the seats. It does have more room than my 2018 Silverado.
Center Console - I believe it is fixed and the 2 seats operate independently. But not positive.

Thanks for your time! I was really hoping there was a 5th regular tire and Steelie under there. I will add under hood lights even if it's just a aftermarket battery LED set up. I'll check and see if there's a factory hood insulation available.. just because.
Since I have never ever towed anything since a brief affair 35 years ago with a very bad homemade boat trailer I have no plans to tow but just looking at the numbers it seems fairly capable. But I needed the hitch to carry a scooter if my leg forces me to use one in the years to come.
That's a great truck and color!

Does it match the other tires and rim? When I buy my new tires and wheels I'll get 5 so I can rotate without issues. Does yours have fog lights? I'm trying to work out what I'll have to do to add them. Thanks for taking a look!

Tire size is the same but does not match the other 4 Michelins but rather is a Maxxis 770. The rim is black steel. No I do not have fog lamps.

I can share something that wasn’t on your list of questions. I just got an email from Ford that made me feel like I definitely ordered the peasant XL trim haha. We XL fellas don’t get the newer key design like this image shows. We get the decade old fob. I’m not sure if this is even a fob they make. Anyone know? We have to use the actual key for the ignition so it wouldn’t work but it’s still funny.

Bossharp, Saw on instagram that they’ll be offering OEM kits for the fog lights. Just not to sure if I can post it on here.

The tire is basically full size, but it’s clearly marked as a temporary tire.

That's the exact reason I posted this thread..To see what Ford is actually delivering to us! Getting the lowest price F-150 XL made I know we can't expect equipment that might be standard on higher trims but I DID hope we would get a matching regular tire and steel wheel. Especially since Ford considers the regular cab and XL trim level to be it's true 'work' truck. My last absolutely brand new F-150 was a 1995 Super Cab XL so I'm not really familiar with what to expect on the Gen-14 trucks.
The way Ford simplified the build of the 2024 regular cab short bed works extremely well for me personally. It has almost every option/feature I absolutely had to have and there's only a few I would have optioned if given the choice. A power drivers seat is number one on that list. Fleet orders can get it.
I'll just have to make/modifie it myself.

I personally am amazed what you get now in what most people consider a “work” truck. I’m not old enough to have bought one, but am old enough to have driven my dad’s old entry level trucks. One was a 75 Chevy pick up and the other 82 Nissan pick up. The Chevy had a straight 6 with 3 speed manual shifter. Had manual brakes. Manual steering. No AC. Row up windows and manual door locks. Rear bumber was an option. Had a big vinyl bench seat. And a AM radio. The Nissan wasn’t much better. Note I turn 57 next month.
Anyways, if these trucks XL trucks had carpet and leather seats, they would be better equipped than most fully loaded vehicles up to about the year 2010.
I really have no need or desire for anything this truck doesn’t come standard with. Even if they were free. Well that’s not true, I wouldn’t mind it at all if they came standard with the Roush Supercharger :)

I'm new to 2021 plus F-150's but researching a new vehicle period (and seeing 'Sleeper' videos) I was impressed by how well equiped the 2024 XL. Regular cab was. Inflation for trucks in particular kinda shocked me. I'm coming out of a 2015 Honda Fit and frankly there was few new vehicles under 50K I would consider buying. I almost bought a 1965 Imperial convertible but I wanted the advantage of all the new tech and safety features.
