That makes sense but doesn't make sense why the owner's manual doesn't make any mention of heated mirrors without that button.
The digital version has the video with the expanded instructions and explainations embedded. Ford's focus is on the digital version.

Thanks and I was able to check mine today and the rear window defrost does indeed turn on mirror heat.

My '19 Lariat has heated mirrors with no dedicated button, it turns on with MAX heat or with rear defrost. They take a good five minutes to clear of fog and you can watch the progression across the glass. 100 seconds? No way! Actually, my passenger side clears a little faster than drivers side.

I read a note somewhere that mentioned that an auto dimming mirror is thicker and will take longer to heat...is the drivers side only auto dimming maybe?

I’m not sure about that fact, but coming from a car with both outside mirrors auto dimming, I really miss it on the passenger side lol

Interesting you should mention the right mirror does better as I tested mine today and the right mirror got much more hot than the drivers side.

Do you have a laser thermometer? This might help you see if the mirror heats up.

Maybe @Ford Motor Company can help you. :p
IR thermometers are not very good with glass, water, or mirrors. It may work or it may not depending on the type of sensor. It may just as well tell you the temp of the thing in the mirror (or some combination). At least that is how I understand it.

For shiny/reflective surfaces, just put a small piece of electrical tape on the surface and you should be able to get a relatively accurate reading.

I’m very curious if it was there or not. It is in all the electrical schematics with no switch. Prolly why there is a ambient temp sensor on the ps mirror. Used to be in front of radiator. My 22 XLT 301A is supposed to have heated mirrors also. I find it hard to comprehend ford would deliberately mis represent after all the effort to tell us what we wouldn’t get on 22s, Compared to 21s Before delivery.
I was bent when they removed all the hi end features , lighting, head rest adjust, temp readout, bed lights etc.
those items are missed.
, but they were upfront. I still bought it. I like it. Now to add what I need.

We have Fluke IR thermometers and thermal cameras at work. I'll try to get some measurements this week, if I remember.

This morning my driver's side mirror was foggy. I turned in the rear defroster and in ~1 min, most of the condensation was gone. The only remaining water was large droplets from water that ran down over it, but that didn't impact my ability to see anything in the mirror.
