I’ve used heated mirrors on other trucks and cars so I know what they should do. I use the one on my work truck whenever it rains because I’m too lazy to wipe them dry and within 2-3mins they are boner dry

Question…. Does anyone know if the wiring is in place for the heater mirrors. I have the manual folding mirrors with the turn signals.

in my Subaru, the wiring was all there And literally just needed to swap out the mirror itself. Not the housing or any wires. The wires were there just sitting behind the actual mirror itself.

I knew there had to be a dedicated button for the heated mirrors. Just like any other vehicle.

A bunch of people were saying that the rear defroster button activates the heated mirrors and I didn’t really believe it because it never really seemed to work, especially when I really needed it in the winter.

I guess that means we don’t actually have heated mirrors. Ford got me again dirty sneaky bastards.

Yup. It’s bad enough that they knowingly put their customers in very dangerous situations with the shitty parts options to increase their profits.

But this heated mirror scam is a flat out lie and a nice big “f*ck you because you can’t do anything about it,” to their customers faces. This one is extra shitty because I actually really needed the heated mirrors, it wasn’t one of the unnecessary luxuries like the fold down workspace.

I escalated this to Ford chat and have a case number which will be escalated to a research specialist. They first told me my truck did not show heated mirrors and I said but all the order guides show it as standard equipment on the XLT trim.

Removing a feature is one thing. Having it on the sticker and not delivering it with the feature is textbook bait-and-switch, and very illegal.

If your mirrors just aren't working well, that's a whole other issue.

Yes it was on my sticker and buildsheet and confirmed with the dealer. When I couldn’t find the button I called him right away and he told me to just look through the manual. Couldn’t find anything on there and that’s why I came to bug you guys on this forum for some insight

Don't mention any special button, I'm going to assume that the directions in the manual were written as a super generic language that was vague enough to work with every car. "Press the button" Isn't the same as "press the button that looks like this."

So unless someone can produce a picture of some special button on their truck, I would infer they activate with the Rear Defrost button.

Likewise, If you have BLIS, you don't get the wavy mirror icon, probably so they don't get confused with each other.

So, it sounds like the mirrors in general don't work well, or yours don't work well, which is not the same as them not existing.

Some may recall that a few months ago the wind blew my driver door past its limit and spent a couple of months in the shop getting repaired.

They had to replace the door and the fender and the hinges and some other related parts.

During that time I was given a 2021 Kia Rio for a rental. Worst car ever. I’m pretty sure it cost less than a quarter of my truck. But it had a dedicated button. And when I pressed it those mirrors were cleared in less than 100 seconds.

I don’t know if my F150 has shitty mirror heaters or none at all but all I know is that a trash ass Kia outperformed the shit out of this $70k Ford pick up truck.
By the way, if I’m not mistaken, Ford is one of if not the oldest car companies in the world. The least you could do is get the fuckin heated mirrors straight.
