Recall Campaign #: 24E04 - POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE PCM REPROGRAMMING AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACEMENT IF REQUIRED

I just got notice of this recall today (9/25/24) for my truck. From some searching on the web, it was started in June but not much more info about it. A couple of mentions on this site (https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/ford-canada-eghr-notice.24976/) but primarily about a different recall.

Last year (9/12/23) I had received some Service Engine Soon Warnings and some mentioned PCM. But the next day they were gone and have never returned.
Some others have complained back in July that Ford still didn't have any fix for this recall and was holding onto new trucks and not allowing delivery to buyers.

Just wondered if anyone knew of any more info about this recall or if Ford can actually fix them now. I'm due for an oil change so wanted to find out more about it before trying to schedule something with the dealer only to tell me later that they can't fix it yet.

So from how I read this, and at very least, they should just need to verify that it has the latest PCM update? I don't have any current DTC's...

Think I should ask them to verify the "Mode 6 Data " since I most likely had a DTC for PCM a year ago? I would hate to have the CATs prematurely wear out and have to replace after my warranty expires...

Mine is getting all recalls cleared right now, went up there and told them there's a new one so they'll clear all 4 of them out of the system officially even though the wiper motor is the only one I haven't done.

I also had an OTA update labeled ECG-24.2.5.6.2

So the recall notice and the update very recently.

My truck got this recall notice in the app overnight. I had the dealer call me by 9am to schedule the mobile tech to come out. The soonest I can be available is Friday, but they had same day availability. This is a rather dramatic change in service from this dealer and I’m almost in shock by it.

Just got my truck (temporarily) back from the shop today waiting for an ordered part to arrive for different issue-- Tech is following Ford's trouble shooting manual procedure that has him doing an "one-by-one" replacing of different interior A/C plugs while chasing down a "ProPower Onboard Turned Off" fault gremlin that only occurs while my iPhone 13 Pro Max is plugged in the USB-C port media bin port for an extended time during long, 100+ mile trips. Man, with these "new" days of module replacements, there seems to be a lot of good parts being "unecessarily" replaced and thrown away per the manufacturer's repair procedure recommendations not exactly finding and fixing the issue.

The good news is that the paperwork shows that they did that PCM update before returning the truck.

Looks like I got this as well. I randomly had to open my insurance app and saw it listed. I guess I'll try to get it checked off when I go in for service in a couple months.

I got this recall notice today via my Ford Pass App. I have to schedule my oil change and 30K checkup. I'll just throw this in with the other stuff.

Mobile tech showed up on time and knew what to do. I’m truly amazed as I’ve had some fairly bad service experiences from Lithia.

Just a large software update he said and a diagnostic tool to check the cats to make sure they are fine. Mine were. Total time 15 minutes.

He also pulled the codes and said my right rear speaker was blown. I pointed at the speakers on the workbench and said that’s our after school project. Tech agreed replacing with factory speakers was probably a bad idea.

Got the notice for this via txt today and called them. BCM is just a check, now the Cats have me a bit worried as I am on #4 now.
