24E04 PCM Update Dealer Only?

I received the letter for the 24E04 update. Is this dealer only? I did a full FDRS update of my truck in January. Would that have done this update to the PCM?

Ford has not released a new PCM update in a long time, so if you updated with FDRS two months ago, you most likely already did it.

I am taking my truck in for 24E04 this Thursday as I believe due to my battery issues, I haven't been getting update for a really long time. I will try my luck with having them to replace both 12V batteries as well as performing all the outstanding updates. 24N04 letter also came in not too long ago and I will create a separate post for that. I found the dealer's response interesting for the 24N04!

Interesting that y'all are getting "letters" about "updates", I'd not heard of / have never received such. Just curious....

Are these "letters" about TSBs, CSPs, or .... ?

Is this practice of Ford sending 'update letters' particular to the hybrid only (mine is not a PowerBoost)?

We have PBs but I am not sure if these are only PB related.

Mine was a recall. I was calling it an update because they will be doing a PCM update..

Ah, matters of formal recall or regulatory compliance, yes I get those letters (they're certainly not limited to PBs).

I was confused by the term "updates", which I associate with matters other than regulatory requirements. My mistake, thanks for the clarification, no worries!
