Wellll...Red Rocket got some dyno tuning today...but it was short lived.

Towards the end of the day, the lead tuner tried tuning my truck....and the tires spun on the rollers.

So they pulled the ratchet straps tighter, and it was still spinning.

So no numbers right now, Livernois is gonna take care of the traction issue tomorrow.

Getting excited...😁😁😁

Haha, you need slicks and spray them down with belt dressing! or don't start the test until your at a higher wheel speed...Problems with too much power I guess, sure sounds like fun!

I remember dynoing my dually, and they only tied the back down with two straps. I sprayed it and it came up on boost pretty quick, it stretched the straps to the point that the back wheels almost went forward off the roller and touched the floor of the dyno. That would have been a bad day at the dyno shop, as it would likely have gone right through the back wall of the dyno room. Fortunately it didn't, and they quickly added 2 more straps to the rear. That dyno was notoriously stingy, but it read 920 ft/lbs at about 2200 rpm. Realistically it was probably more like 1100 or so...

Can't tell you how many times I have seen the wheels break loose on a dyno when the boost kicks in on setups with 600+ HP. May need a 4-wheel dyno or slicks on the rear to get the most accurate results.

Used to work with a guy with a twin turbo 5.0 mustang that dynoed to 780HP and 752 lbs/ft torque to the wheels. After seeing the videos of his pulls we figured he lost at least 30-50 on the results due to his wheels breaking loose during the runs. Each time the boost kicked at about 3.5K in you'd see a bunch of blue/white smoke coming from the rear wheel wells and a corresponding dip in the hp/tq curve. Even running street slicks, they tried ratcheting the car down tighter, lowered the tire pressure, even added weights in the trunk nothing worked. They didn't want to enable the TCS because of how it cuts power and would skew the results even further. Regardless of this he was happy with the results. lol
