I just traded my 2020 Denalli 6.2 w/ Cold air kit for a 21 Platinum Powerboost and I must say the GM felt way faster. Maybe I am missing something. Also the motor dying all the time is annoying.
The motor “dying” all the time is a hallmark of a hybrid and what makes them good on gas. Many here complain the engine runs more than we’d like lol

By any 1:1 comparison, the F-150 is definitely faster, by at least a second in 0-60. It feeling one way or another is largely irrelevant as the feel of a vehicle can be down to a number of factors. The noise of the 6.2L almost definitely made it "feel" like more was happening. The PB trucks are faster than the Raptor, and the Raptor is faster than the 6.2L.

As for the engine shutting down, that should have been pretty evident in a test drive. Not sure what else you expect from a hybrid drivetrain. Put it in Sport mode and aside from stopping at lights it won't shut down. Or trade it in and get either a 3.5L EB or go back to a GM 6.2L and it will be slower and worse on fuel, but at least "feel" right again.

how could that be possible? Pretty sure the Powerboost has more power, maybe even less weight, and shorter gears. Makes no sense

F-150 Lighter? I think GM is the lightest by far on all 1/2 ton trucks.

Lariat Powerboost is 800 lbs heavier than a 6.2 Denali actually. F150s are heavy in general and then all the hybrid stuff adds 150-200 lbs

From a quick search the Denali is 6.5s 0 to 60 and 15s in the 1/4 mile, the Powerboost is 5.3s and 13.8s respectively. You should feel 1.2s to 60mph and 1.2s in the 1/4 mile. From an experience standpoint, on different occasions I about ran over the top of a 6.2L Raptor and a new Dodge Ram 1500 5.7l Hemi that wanted to test the Powerboost. They did not have it.... My only issue is the top speed limiter.

What is it set at? I have owned several high performance cars. I just filled it with 93 and yes it bumped it up somewhat. I have watched videos of 6.2 running 14 flat @ 101 bone stock. My Denalli has an abundant amount more power above 70 mph.

Based on all your posts here, you should just trade in the F-150 and go back to GMC because it doesn't seem like you're going to be happy otherwise.

I haven't driven the GM 6.2, but my last Ford 6.2 in Super Duty frame had much more Wind-up feel above 3500 RPM than my Powerboost. Its a similar feel to my old 5.0 Mustang. The Powerboost (and other ecoboost I've driven) just pull much stronger from low to mid-range and carry smoothly through top-end. You don't get that wind-up feeling, but the speedometer shows the results when you look down and see you're actually flying.

Only thing that feels slower on the PB for me is its hesitation to downshift into Go Gear sometimes, but I've seen that in most factory Ford calibrations. Ride the pedal a little longer and she gets going.

It was a 77k truck. My 2020 Denalli was a 69k truck. Paid 56k At 77k you would think there would be no windnoise through the doors at anything above 70, they advertise 24 mpg I think the only way this truck gets that is 55 mph downhill. It has a lunge or surge when pulling into my garage when electric motor kick in or out, I only have 6" room between my front bumper and the wall. My 18 speaker stereo is a total disapointment, almost 1/2 as good as my old Bose system w/ 6 speakers.,
It listed @ 77k, paid 75k and they sprayed bed and tinted window.

I'm not usually one who objects to folks posting their gripes. And honestly, I'm still not opposed to it. But it does seem a little awkward for someone to be so disenchanted with their purchase but willing to live with it. I know I wouldn't keep a product that garnered my disappointments enough to dominate my experience with it.

I have my gripes about my Powerboost. But the AMAZING amount of things I love about it far outweigh those gripes. Thus it's staying in the fleet. :)

The truck is simply outstanding in so many ways. It raises the bar forever for what I as a truck owner now will expect.

I really do like the truck. I paid almost MSRP so resale it and I will loose $$$$. That being said, I can live with the fuel economy, the stereo, but the windnoise is something I cannot tolerate on a near 80k truck. It is very comfy as well.

I honestly don't think I am experiencing the objectionable wind noise. If I was, I'd certainly address it because I don't think I would be willing to live with that.

As for the stereo, I learned a long time ago that Ford (and some others) doesn't really offer what I consider premium sound. It is disappointing that they don't even offer a legitimate high end sound for a legitimate premium price. Oem's have such an advantage to do so compared to the aftermarket.

My 2018 KingRanch came with the best package Ford offers in the truck. Like you, I found it average by modern standards. (although it co$t very little as an option. So I wasn't surprised)

I actually appreciate good quality music on 15 hour tow days enough to....

@David Gordon I had a C7 Vette with the 6.2 that you speak of, and while it is a good motor, it is not even in the same league as the Powerboost. I think you are biased if you think the good 'ol pushrod 6.2 is faster than the 3.5TT EV powertrain. The 6.2 does NOT like to rev while the PB revs out smoothly and electric motor fills in the torque gaps between shifts. At no speeds did the 6.2 feel faster, sorry.

You may want to meet pugno something or other. He's another very grumpy Powerboost owner, you guys will hit it off LOL
