Didn't he say something to the effect of it uses the 12V starter every time to start up initially?

I know that's not right. I've only heard mine start up that way an handful of times. I assume it uses the belt starter most of the time when stopped, the hybrid starter when moving and 12V starter when it's coming out of a deep sleep or hybrid battery is too low.
I thought I heard him say it uses the 12V starter every time initially too.

However, that has not been my experience at all. In fact I don't think I can recall the starter motor kicking in more than single digit times in the 70k plus I have driven my truck..
Most of the time I am backing out of my garage in the morning and it's on electric and then I just hear the engine coming on.. Almost magically!

This also leads me to believe the transmission fluid gets extra duty to cool the stator that he said gets pretty hot. I think I will continue to do my partial drain and refill of fresh fluid every 20-30k miles or so.

A frequent thing on the wish list threads, is a more powerful motor for PB V2.

I'm no electric motor expert but after seeing that, I wonder how much more powerful it could be, if using the same basic design. A couple inches longer maybe? How much would that get you?

Agreed.
Would definitely love to see an aftermarket transmission pan available with with cooling fins and/or increased capacity made of anything besides plastic.
