Hadn't thought of altitude for mpg, but I'm sure it's colder than Fla., so less electric only and more engine warming time for you. Perhaps if you drove around town long enough it would improve.
I did make a longer trip (about 35 miles) and did get about 21 MPG on that trip. But most of my trips right now are only about 10 miles or less. I am planning a trip to Wisconsin next month, but I'll be pulling a 6K lb. travel trailer.

Should be a good test for it. I'm on an InTech RV forum and the PB get's high marks for towing in that weight range.

Mileage is HEAVILY influenced by wind resistance. Same road, same trip, same day, I can get 16 MPG going 75MPH by myself or 23 MPG doing 63MPH behind an 18 wheeler. The drafting does seem to reduce wind resistance, as the cell booster antenna that I installed whips around noticeably less when I am behind a truck vs not.

I suspect that that's your problem. Until the engine and transmission get warmed up, I get crap mileage as well. Once you're up to about 15-20 miles is when it starts to really average up.

I don't think that Denver elevations should affect it much, unless you go into the mountains a lot. Extreme cold will affect it, but Denver seems like "average" conditions, at least to me.

I'm planning a trip to Wisconcin in may pulling a 6000 lb trailer. That should tell me if the extra money for the Powerboost was worth it or not. The 2011 got 12mpg pulling the same trailer in the mountains.
Your truck should pull that trailer fine (I just got back from a 1000 mile trip with my own 3-ton RV trailer). However, you should expect similar mileage as you previously got. With that kind of load, the electric motor won't engage much at all, so you're basically rocking a straight Ecoboost at that point. Still a great truck (especially when you plug the RV into Pro-Power to get your A/C working in a parking lot), but it won't really get you any improvement in gas mileage when you're towing from the powerboost aspect of your truck.

Your not rocking a straight ecoboost though the mileage is very similar, you still have more go power available. I don't know why I'm nit picking lol

Well, right…but I was speaking about gas mileage, and when towing, the powerboost basically functions like an ecoboost in terms of gas mileage. The electric motor does add a bit of horsepower, but it won’t really save any gas in that utilization.

Completely agree. In fact the added weight of a PB and any parasitic drag from the traction motor may reduce the mpg below a similar EB truck. I don't know. I don't really care because I do know once you get there you have power enough for two 6klb trailers!

I put a chip and some other goodies in my 2011 EB. It was putting out 450hp and 560flbt. It did a great job with the trailer and I'm sure my new PB will do just as well pulling. If not, I've found a few goodies for the PB that will increase the hp by 100 and the torque by 90flbs. I built hot rods for 48 years so my wife always says I don't leave anything stock, but I'm hoping I can leave this one as close as possible.

I went from a 2011 Lariat Ecoboost to a 2022 Lariat Powerboost and my insurance went up $300/year.
As for milage, I'm getting around 16mpg with the new truck vs 15mpg with old truck in town. Haven't had the new truck on the highway much (yet), but the one time I did, I kept it at 70-75 mph and got almost 30mpg.

I'm in N Thornton, so the same elevation as you. I regularly get 23-26mpg to and from work with a 13 mile commute. That said, my mileage sucks until the engine fully warms up and the electric starts to kick in. The 80* days we had last week netted over 26mpg.

Semis don't like ya drafting them, but it's amazing the mileage you can get once you slide in there just right. I had a taco w/ the 3.6 and pulling a box trailer was hard on the little 4 speed but slide ride on up behind a semi and it got a whole lot easier on it.

I think people are confused by the term "drafting". You can ride their bumper while getting brake checked and white-knuckling the steering wheel to gain 1 extra MPG, or you can set Ford's ACC to one bar. I'm doing the latter; I realize that the mileage gains are markedly diminished, but I also value my ongoing link with this mortal coil.

it depends on the vehicle / trailer config. W/ the taco it was 3-4 car lengths but it's the fact the headlights vanish that get their attention. They can't see behind them so with no headlights available on a long straight road they can't discern any type of information in that regard.

I would say my current PB averages about 1 mpg better than my 2014 F150 w/ 3.5L EB. It was probably as heavy or heavier than my current PB. My 2014 was an all steel body HDPP with Load Range E tires.
