That makes it seem like a no-brainer to swap the hardware, instead of rolling the dice on the cheapest fix and making the customer experience continuously bad. If the DTC's are accurate, then I have a faulted module. I think I've averaged like 13mpg in 1300 miles since I got it back from being "fixed". That's about 30-40 gallons more fuel burned than normal in 3 weeks. If they keep dodging my calls for a few more weeks, I'm going to single-handedly accelerate global warming...Ford batts are modular so you can pull out a defective cell group. That's how they warranty EV batts, just replace the weaker cell blocks until it meets the 70% capacity threshold.

I think that's probably how these are. If I read this original post right, the "Pull over" and shutdown thing were probably related to dangerous conditions (burned wiring, etc).I very much like hybrids but the commonsense design is to make the vehicle fully functional even with a no longer functional battery for that 3rd- 4th life.
Yeah and the battery was only about $2600 last I looked so not terrible. What's 200k?
Mileage?
That's some serious rolling.
I'll be happy to get to 200k and need a fresh 1.5KWH battery
I’m assuming those are the same form factor for the PB? That’s a good deal especially brand new. Little steep on shipping but they do have a best offer option. ?Still have 19 of them left at $500 obo

Dont EVEN Google the SNL Mercury Mistress skit.....Reminds me of the fake SNL commercial for the Mercedes AA Class.

Yeah, BECM needs swapped over as do the mounting brackets from the factory battery. Same otherwise.I’m assuming those are the same form factor for the PB? That’s a good deal especially brand new. Little steep on shipping but they do have a best offer option. ?
Hi, Rob. Are you still experiencing this battery concern? If so, I would like to look into it on my end. Please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer.Hybrid batt issues are how I found this forum... I've been getting hybrid battery faults since probably 40k (immediately after warranty expired), but never a "stop now" warning.
I'd get "Generator is overloaded" faults, "Service vehicle soon", and a CEL with code P0B24. "Service Vehicle" and CEL always together, and "Generator..." warning would only come on with the other two. Electric drive is completely disabled when the faults occur.
These were originally always at a cold startup. Sometimes I could manually clear it by shutting the truck off and waiting 3 minutes, with the CEL remaining for a few more starts, then clearing itself. Then randomly occur again soon after.
I had the truck in for 60k service interval (late, at 70k), and asked for them to address this. Service writer gave the truck back and said they "reprogrammed the battery" instead of replacing it. I'm almost thinking they added some kind of diag software to stress test it, because now the faults are constant and worse than ever. I'd get a startup without a fault and think, "Hey, maybe I'll get electric this drive" and then the fault would trip after almost a mile on the electric odo. I'd really like my truck to run great again, too...
