sometimes seeing all these stories about how great Granger is to deal with on top of getting 4% below MSRP makes me wanna order EXACTLY what i want despite loving my currently truck haha
Yeah if and when I ever decide to buy another truck, they will be the first place I go to get a price. At the very least, I will most likely have the best deal to negotiate with local dealers.

Yeah, the Mrs thinks i'm crazy to entertain buying a truck from Iowa when i live in VA bc she thinks the savings doesnt outweigh the hassle.
side note...i secretly want an Expedition over my F150 but i know deep down i love having that 6.5' bed more haha

6. Bad things
1) blue cruise
Can't be worse anymore. You never know when you can use it and when it disable itself. Sometimes it just turn itself on and off, again and again.
There were twice, it suddenly turn itself off when there was an exit. I nearly hit the median.
Sometimes, it sways the car left and right, just like the the tail of happy puppy.
2) gear box
sometime the trans between 2-3-4 gears are really annoying.
3) information system
Some settings were not saved with no reasons.
4) no wheel well liner
Cannot believe no wheel well liner by default.
5) trash tires
My tires are hankook AT.

Hope you all get your dreaming car early!
Congrats on your truck! When I picked up mine from Granger a few months ago, I had a very similar and amazing purchasing experience.

About your "bad things" list:
1. I am out of my 90-day Blue Cruise trial and I did not renew because I don't spend enough time on the highway to justify it's price. If I take a cross-country road trip, I may buy a month to month plan while traveling but, mine only seemed to disengage when I entered a new or confusing construction zone. It will also disengage under toll booth scanners (probably for legality reasons so a camera can show you physically driving so you pay the the toll kind of thing) but other than that, I can't remember it having any quirks.
2. Maybe the truck is still learning the way you drive? I think a lot of people think that the "break-in" period is only for the engine but don't realize that the entire vehicle is new and the brakes haven't mated yet, the transmission has never spun at those temperatures or speeds before, the shocks have never bounced around on it's seals very much, or even the windows haven't even been opened and closed on the seals more than a handful of times. I think your shifting annoyance will get better the more you drive...At least I hope it does.
3. It's possible, your truck was/has downloaded initial updates and was adding them. The last update mines did just the other day, wiped out my dashboard "my view" settings and I had to re-do them. I also find this annoying but we live in a digital age and in a first world country. Things could be worse.
4. I agree. I used my Ford points from my truck purchase to buy mine from the dealer. Amazon has brands that are cheaper than Ford if you're paying out of pocket but then again, it's free if you use your Ford points (one your account gets settled from the purchase...in about 30 days-ish).
5. My truck has 22" wheels and came with General Grabber HTS60 tires. I wouldn't call them "trash" but they were not the best. I recently received a healthy gash in one of my sidewalls and found that Discount Tire does not sell this tire anymore or at least they say my size is discontinued. The only place I found a replacement was the dealership and they wanted to tear my head off. I decided to replace all 4 tires with Michelins. I do not level or lift so for my purpose, I feel that Michelins are the "gold standard" for all season light truck tires (your results may vary). I can't speak to AT tires. With all of that said, I think Ford keeps costs down with their OEM tires. They purposefully choose a VERY mild "AT" tire because they are lightweight and will help them achieve the MPG ratings they advertise. This means, yeah, you're right. The OEM tires were probably just "good" and certainly not "best". My General tires were not bad but they weren't great either. Again, these are first-world problems. It's a great truck. I hope it brings you many years of great memories.

You can buy wheel well liners with your Ford Points. I had to do the same.
Your Tranny is rough because it is learning you and should smooth out with a few more different driving scenarios.
Your gas mileage should improve another couple of mpg (or more) after you get about 10,000 mile on it. been that way for the last 4 Fords I have owned. I average 24.7 MPG.[/QUOTE]

The road trip through that part of the country alone is "worth the hassle". America is beautiful. It would be a shame to not take advantage of the opportunity of a cross-country road trip.

Congrats on your truck!

My 2024 King Ranch with Powerboost has arrived at Granger and I'll be picking it up this coming Thursday and will drive it back to the Portland area. I'll post a trip report when I get back!

I have had two F150 with the 20" Hankook tires ... they provide a really nice ride, but are so thin that almost any road debris will puncture them (twice with me). I have tried several other options with Michelin and Toyo seeming to be best for me ... Michelin are quiet and last much longer than the warranty and the Toyo are just great in snow, mud but are louder as they wear and are almost done at the end of the warranty (if any of that helps).

At First, thanks to Chip, Shelby, Steve and Granger Ford. Your offered me the best price and best service I have ever met in my whole life.
No hidden fee, no games. Everything goes so good.
Shelby did all paperworks in 15 minutes; Chip showed me nearly all features and buttons.

Definitely recommend you to buy cars from them.

At first when I saw where is Granger, I must be insane to buy a car from so far way.

Have to say, Granger Ford make it worth!

1. Timeline
long time ago ~ early this year: the desire of buying a truck growing
early this year: F150 was decided
May ~ June: Actively finding for a good price
06/05: made an order from Chip

07/30: Shelby confirmed everything is ok and I can pick it up

08/01 9:50: picked up by Steve

3. Trip
road map
Screenshot 2024-08-05 143025.jpg

1st Day 08/01
Driving slowly since I tooke a red-eye flight. Passed by Omaha, so sad Warren Buffett is not my friend, or I could have a dinner with him.
So many corns and beans in Nebraska!

2nd Day 08/02
No plants or animals seen after I entered Colorado. I went to Dever to see an old friend.

3nd Day 08/03
Nice view after I left Denver.

4nd Day 08/04
I didn't expect the high way is so great in Utah. A 50 miles long and straight high way, then you take a turn, then another 50 miles long and straight high way.
LIke this

I planned 5 days on the way. I made the decision at 4pm to finish the whole trip in 4 days

IMG_4952.JPG

Arrived at home 9:17pm

4. MPG
Mostly I drove at the speed limit except in CA. I can't believe why people here are driving so fast even on the mountain high way. I feel myself like an idiot when I was the only person at the speed limit.

1st day: 18mpg
2nd day: 23mpg
3rd day: 19mpg
4th day: 24mpg

overall: 20.9mpg

5. Add-on Items
DashCam
is always the first thing I install. I got the power from the mirror, so very clean! You can't see any wire when driving.

IMG_4959.JPG

Tonneau Cover and Rack System
I am choosing Backflip MX4 and Elevate Rack System. Salesman from realtruck.com said they are not compatible anymore. I still take a chance to try.
Nice fit after a few minor modification.

despite not having first hand experience i would probably lean to agreeing with you. I think if possible everyone should find time to take a nice road trip.

I picked up my XLT Powerboost from Granger on 7-23. I agree , it was an excellent buying experience. The ordering process with Chip was smooth and quick. Shelby knows her stuff and handled the paperwork end with no stress to me. The discount for my truck ended up over 10% off MSRP. My build on the Ford site had an MSRP of 67,800. Granger gave me a quote of 60, 080. A little over 7600 off. In addition their papework fees at closing are super reasonable. I also qualified for a choice , from Ford , of 900 refund and a 0% 36 month loan , or 2500 refund. I chose the 900 off one. With the flight and a 1300 mile drive home the pickup cost me less than 700 . I recommend Granger and would do it again.
Thank you for your feedback Steve! Enjoy your F-150! :)

You could have had the truck delivered for you at a cost of less than $1,000 on a vehicle trailer and taken delivery locally. I hope you saved at least $3,000 with Grainger over a local dealer's price.

I could have done that as well, but I wanted to get the break-in done and enjoy a scenic drive back from Iowa. Definitely a fair point if you don't want to do a long drive.

Congratulations on the new truck. I'm curious as to what your Payload is with that powerboost? Would you mind sharing your payload sticker, would like to know how it compares to my similarly equipped non-powerboost.
Mine came in at 1696 lbs.
I will post it later.
