Delivery from Dearborn to Granger

How are you guys tracking progress after it leaves the plant? According to Ford's tracker, my truck was shipped on 9/8 with estimated delivery 10/7-10/13. Window sticker shows convoy, but from what I have read here they always go to KC by rail before being loaded onto a truck and sent to Granger.

My truck was shipped on the 9/16 and arrived at Granger Ford on the 10/2. About two weeks seems to be the average but other trucks have sat in KC for weeks longer. I reached out to Granger after two weeks and it arrived a few days later. The estimated delivery was always later than when it actually showed up.

Since your truck shipped before mine and it has been a month, I'd contact Granger if you haven't already. They can at least confirm it is in KC. This is what they sent me...

I screwed up. My truck shipped 9/28, not the 8th. I will reach out to Granger once I hit 2 weeks or so.

Mine has been in KC since the 5th. Delivery window ended yesterday so I emailed Granger. Chip said they hope to have it there the 16th-22nd. Any update on yours?

Delivery window slipped this last weekend to 10/13-10/19. Which… was the original window given after it shipped before they brought it in by a week… go figure.

Avoiding reaching out to them because it’ll get here when it gets here and I don’t wanna bother them anymore lol

Mine shipped 8/28 and I still don’t have it. According to Granger, it’s still on a train and hasn’t even made it to KC yet. I’m at a loss at this point.

A heads-up to those picking up their vehicles from Granger, especially those coming back to Texas. This may also help others make fewer trips to the DMV who are going to other states.

The temp tag Granger provides for you to drive away with is really just a 15-day "transit" tag while you await your Iowa Title (they tell you it's good for 30 days). When the title arrived at my home in 2 to 3 weeks, it also included a new Iowa temporary 30-day tag recognized by all 50 states that I was not expecting. I didn't have to get a TX temporary tags after all.

I had asked for the initial title to be in both the wife's and my name but Granger told me that I would have to do that when I applied for the Texas Title. Okay, but I ended up having to drive to the Department of Motor Vehicle 3 times because:

1. Iowa will not accept a title transfer to another state unless the vehicle is inspected in the new state and the paperwork is provided to prove such. Because Texas recently went to digital inspection reports, I had no paper copy of the inspection when I showed up at the DMV. Even though my inspection was digitally in the system, a paper copy is required. So, when you get your vehicle inspection make sure you ask for and leave with a paper copy of the inspection to provide with your title transfer stack of papers.

2. Your spouse's name and signature are required on the back of the Iowa title. You actually have to sign over the title back to yourself plus your spouse. So, you will have two signatures on the back of the title and one for your spouse.

I have purchased many vehicles out of state but none have had to be titled in the state I purchased the vehicle in and require this process.
