They're working on wireless chargers that will make it possible. The vehicles will already come and pick you up in the parking lot if you've paid to use that feature. (part of the FSD stack) There won't be any self-charging w/ vehicles already sold, but all of the autonomous features are simply software, no other hardware needed.what I truly don't get is why people have to wait in line at their charging stations. It should be drop it off at entrance, the lot takes over, and the Tesla comes to pick you up at the picnic table, restaurant, or whatever when it's done.
95%+ of EV owners charge at home. Kinda why fast charging infrastructure is a redheaded stepchild of sorts. Imagine only using a gas station when you're driving somewhere that requires more gas than the full tank you already got from home. The equipment and grid buildout is such that it doesn't make sense to do without taxpayer $.
