My record in my 2.7. Problem is these are one-way. If yours was anything like mine the round trip is probably a lot different. ?

Seems the 2.7 is the sweet spot for MPG, power and price.

So I'm at about 3500 miles on my 2022 Lariat 2.7L and my fuel economy shows 20.3 after probably a 60/40 or 70/30 split of highway/city driving. Should I be getting more than this? Is my mpg so low because it is basing it on all 3500 miles since I haven't reset it? Will mpg improve over time?

So keep in mind that the pictures above are all just single trips. When I look at my current overall fuel economy stats its currently bouncing between 23.6 and 23.7 right now. My goal is to get it up to 24 right now.

When I drive I still monitor my breaking coach and try to keep my motor in electric as long as I can by not pushing the electric bar to the top when it is on...so my babying probably helps my overall numbers as well.

I have noticed that acceleration from a stop seems to have a decent effect on these numbers. So if you like to jump off the line at a red light or have a tendency to gas it when you pass someone...this could be the reason your scores are a little lower.

I to have been curious if I reset any of my trip data if it would reset the overall fuel economy stats or if it really pulls the numbers from the day it was built. I have had my truck in the shop to have bedliner, tint, leveling kit, etc... installed and have noticed my millage has not jumped very high when I pick it up, but my mpg score has dropped a good bit...so I know they arnt babyng the gas peddle the way I do when they have to move it from the parking lot to the maintenance bay... so I cuss them out silently on my way home and then secretly get happy when I see mpg score going up again. :p

20 mile trips are not impressive. On flat highway my 5.0 will get these numbers.
It won’t get those number combing a full commute with a mix of city/highway which I assume this is due the electric mileage.

I hit 23.5 yesterday driving to a town in the next county. Coming from a SD dually, I just want to giggle. That said, I can't tow 31k either, so there's that ...

I think he was just referring to the one way highway trips, it’s easy to get great figures on flat trips. Still impressive nonetheless imo.

All of the mileage displays are resettable and are reset independently. When you are on the current mileage, trip 1, or trip 2 display, press and hold OK to reset it. I have not reset trip since it was new.

This is my highest so far, but it was already warmed up from a previous trip and this was mostly downhill. A little over half of the miles were electric.

I have found that if a drive short trips and let the engine cool down between trips, my gas mileage suffers. Since it was new, my mileage is 20.5 MPG, but that has also been all winter driving in Colorado. Mine is not really equipped for optimal gas mileage either, so it seems pretty good so far.

With only highway miles, a hybrid is going to be marginally better or on par with a non-hybrid.

That was exactly my point. These 20-30 mile trips prove nothing. Let me run predominantly down hill and I bet mine hits 30mpg+... These given numbers are not realistic for combined, etc...

Congratulations Mouse51180! I wish I could get mileage like that, but I'm still happy with mine considering I upgraded from a 2002 Ford Ranger 4.0L that got about 15 mpg in town. Here's my best ever

Speaking of running downhill... This is coming out of Smoky Mountain NP. It is hot and the AC is on and B&O is banging but speed limits and traffic and downhill combined to let the hybrid shine.

While not scientific or round trip repeatable... still impressive averaging 30 MPH and 37 MPG for over an hour with lots of pullouts/stops (Oh.. look at that kinda thingys).

Someday I'm gonna drive up Pikes Peak and then see what I can get coming down with my PowerBoost. Maybe 60mpg until I reach the flats? :))
