I live 15 minutes away from All American Ford in Paramus and I’ve been taking my truck to them for all recalls and warranty issues. However, they still think I lied to them about how much I paid for my truck at Granger. Back in 2022, they were adding $3,000-5,000 over msrp + some dealer add ons. I contacted many dealers in tri states and ended up ordering my 23 XLT PB from Granger. My truck’s msrp was $65k and my price after 3% off invoice, $2,000rebate from Ford credit and $1,000 deposit I made was around $56k including dealer fee, etc(I paid the sales tax in cash when I registered it in NJ).
All American laughed when I showed them Granger’s quote as they thought I made it up. All I had to do was tell Chip at Granger what I want and he gave me the final price via email. I paid $1,000 deposit then my truck was ready after two month wait. I flew to Iowa and Chip picked me up at the airport. I was only at Granger for about 5-10 minutes as all paper works were done electronically and headed back home right away. It can’t get any easier than this when buying a car/truck.
Right but in my case Chips quote is $56484. Add $180 doc fees, $35 transit title fee and 6.625% NJ sales tax and it brings it to $60455 and the local one is $62024. The difference is less than $2k. Of course I get the tail step but have to wait 4-6 months

You are likely missing rebates that will be applied during the financing conversation. Chip gave me a price and when I went thru the financing process and rebates were applied, the price came down further. In the end you do what's right for you. With this forum as a resource, you'll find there are dealers who operate honestly and with integrity. I would much rather give my business to an honest operation than one that operates on a buyer beware principle.

When you order a truck at Granger, they only offer you 4% off invoice(it was 3% off when I ordered mine in late 2022) with their doc fee(about $185). However, when your truck is delivered, their finace dept will contact you with all available rebates and discouts that can be applied to you, in my case, there were none from Ford but I could get $2,000 off with Ford finance, so I opted for that. If All American Ford can get you $3,500 Ford rebates for you now, Granger will apply that to your order as well. Only downside is, you will have to wait until your truck is built and delivered to Granger to see what rebates and discounts available at that time.

You also listed below options for the truck you are considering at All American Ford:
Equipment group 302a - $4770
Full hybrid - $3560
XLT black appearance package - $1495
Mobile office package - $555
Tow/haul package - $785

Personally, I wouldn't get a PB without 7.2kw Pro Power. It is a must and the biggest reason why I went with PB over 3.5 ecoboost or 5.0.

This is sage-like advice.

So you will have to take the risk of what rebates might apply in 4-6 months and miss out on current rebates then isn't it?

Yes, It could be. I was laughed at and politely kicked out by a sales person at All American Ford when I asked if they would sell me one at MSRP back in late 2022. Even with Granger, I didn't get any rebates or discounts from Ford in early 2023. Fast forward now, even All American Ford is now offering some discounts, so I figure it will only get better for consumers as I do see more & more trucks in dealer lots these days. I was told 4-6 months for my truck to be built but It didn't even take a month for Ford to build my truck from the date I ordered. Even transporting it from MI to IA took longer than that LOL...If I were you, I would keep searching and at the same time get a quote from Granger to compare. If you search in this forum, you will find one dealer from NJ and another in PA offered the same deal as Granger's in the past. Contact them to see what they offer now. I spent almost 4 months for contacting about 50+ dealerships in tri states and some in MA until I finally say "Fxxt it, I'm just going to fly to IA." IT was my first time ordering a vehicle and purchasing it from out of state but it was well worth it. I really liked that I didn't have to go through all the BS with sales person and finance dept at Granger. I didn't even need to negociate any. Straight forward and nicest finance manager I've ever met at a dealership(I only met her for about 10 seconds lol).My entire experience with Granger was even better than Tesla.

When ordering, you get to take the incentives available at the time you place your order or, those available when taking delivery. Not both, and it's you'd choice. This is a Ford thing, not a dealer thing.

Right

Right but I am just guessing right now. If the current incentives are $2500 and they exist at that time the price only puts me at less than a $2k difference when I buy locally.

Does that local quote include the NJ sales tax? It may not and since you are both in NJ you may take it to DMV and have to pay that sales tax there. Either way you are going to pay the sales tax on the purchase so it needs to be included in any quote. The best thing is not to include it as part of any "out the door" price and just know that you will pay that on any new truck you buy.

Folks - Someone please urgently advise asap.

Local dealership comes to $58170 all in (does not include the step ladder) without sales tax.

Chip from Granger comes to $55484 plus $180 doc fee plus $35 transit title fee and does not include NJ sales tax.

Chip will not commit to the dealer rebates at this time because it depends on the VIN and when I collect it. So, if i assume it as $2500 the total will be $53984k which is $4k cheaper than my local dealership.

Did I do the right calc above and is this worth waiting 4-6 months and what are the odds that the incentives will not be there?

The way I'm reading your post Chip didn't include any incentives in the Granger price but those will be included when you pick up the truck so Granger will be even cheaper.

When your truck arrives they will look at incentives on the day you ordered and the day you picked up and give you the better of the 2.

Example Today there is a $2500 incentive but when you pick up the truck in 4 months there is only a $1000 incentive you will get the $2500 one. (Please someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Custom order. Get what you want. Plan the trip to whichever dealer you choose. The wait will give you some time to reflect on your purchase which I think will help you. Also worth considering is the fact that no one has responded in this thread with a story outlining an overly positive purchasing experience at All American Ford. I'm not saying people don't have such experiences, but read between the lines here.

Don't let excitement get the better of you. I did that with the purchase of my previous truck at an in state dealer and I regret it. Forum members, myself included, have driven or flown 1100+ miles to order from a dealer who is honest and transparent...
