I am going to try a solution I found for the battery going into "save mode" so much, by resetting the BMS.

I need to charge the battery to full first. I was going to just use a regular battery charger, but I am getting conflicting information on whether I can. Is it still okay to use a regular charger on an AGM?

What AGM charger do you use? I'm not really sure what I am looking for with my truck if I need to get one.

UPDATE: From some additional searching. It appears that a regular battery charger is fine as long as I don't let it go above 15 volts? Sound right?
I installed a NOCO Genius 5 and plug in while I'm parked in my driveway. Since I retired, I only drive the truck 3-4 times a week, and short drives, so the battery never fully recovers...this fixed that.

I've been having issues receiving OTA updates this winter, reached out to rugedraw for a VIN check to confirm poor battery stats. Bought a NOCO Genius 10 and hooked it up overnight. I checked on it before going to bed and it was at the pulsing green stage, but when I went to unhook it in the morning, it was back down to the first red light.

OTA updates are failing, remote start isn't working with the FordPass app, not sure what's going on. Bad battery? Truck is a 23 Tremor.

Did you have your key with you or open the hood or doors before seeing the red light? Once you disrupt the electrical system in any way, the charger reverts back to the red light.

I left the hood open while charging, should it be closed? And I did have the key with me when i checked in the morning so that probably explains that.

I like CTEK and have used them for years. I think they are a quality charger. I was getting deep sleep mode notifications and recently trickle charged my Tremor battery because the vehicle does not get driven as much as my other F-150. Topped my battery off and solved my problem.

Don't know for sure but I don't think you will get updates if the hood is open so I would close it. And having your fob with you woke the truck and was the reason your charger went back into charge mode.

Why are so many having to charge the 12V battery in a Powerboost? My solution: X2 AGM H7 from Bulbs and Batteries, more amps, and HIGHER RESTING VOLTAGE than run-of-the-mill batteries. This is a "Hybrid" starting/deep cycle design, weighs about 10% more than the others, and runs about $300, do check for coupons. Optima bought the company recently to get the technolgy.

Swapped out the H6 battery for a H8 AGM and my low state of charge issues have gone away.

C-Tek is the only OEM approved charger for most manufacturers I'm aware of. I've fried some lead acid batteries with "automatic" trickle chargers of other brands. Ford Performance has a rebranded C-Tek.

I got the ford performance (ctek) works great on my 2023 f150 with front & rear viofo 4k dashcams hardwired running motion detect and night vision in park mode every day. The dascam hardwire kit comes with a low voltage shutoff to save the battery but my truck started going into deep sleep mode. Ford looked at it for a week then gave me a replacement h7 battery. The charger tops it all off automatically I use it once a week roughly on AGM mode.

I'm sure I'm going to get some "but why?" for this, but since Oct 2022 I've had a Noco Genius 5A hooked to the battery and I plug in a single extension cord when I'm parked at home, every day. Using Shelly 2.5PM relays, that plug runs the Noco (23/7, two reboots daily if it's constantly on), the block heater, the oil pan heater, and an outlet inside the cab that charges my kid's Chromebook.

Preemptively answering the "why" - I wanted to. Doesn't bother me. If I were to do it again I'd get the 10A Noco.

Happy with the Noco!!
