I like my column shifter! Like this thread says, Classic Ford. I drove a 2023 XLT with a console shifter for a week (long story). Frankly the console shifter felt fragile to me. It wobbled, wiggled, felt lose, like it was broken IMO. When you grab the column shifter it’s commanding, firm, meaning full and “classic” Granted the console shifter is sort of “sporty” I guess, to each their own I suppose…

My Lariat is the first truck that I ever had that didn't have a column shift. I've got a foot in both camps. I kind of like the center console shifter, and especially during those times when I am using the gear selector buttons on the shifter to lock out gears. But on the other hand, you give up a lot of prime real estate on the console that could be used for ultra-convenient storage.
