Yeah, I see that today, IMO that definitely changes the equation for 2024+ owners.

Just curious, was notice of the requirement for dealer programming of 2024+ trucks on their website when you submitted your order?

I don't recall seeing that caveat when I placed my order, but maybe I wasn't looking for it since mine is a 2022.

No it was not, it was added this morning after we had an email exchange. I believe the caveat was added for the folks that converted from a column shifter to a console shifter and owned a 24 model truck.

Assuming that comes with everything you need to ”upgrade’ (funny that going to something included on an XL is an upgrade to a guy with a Lariat) $800 is not bad all things considered including all the work to put this together as a kit.

I wonder if the same step (FDRS update) is needed when you want to convert the truck back to its original shifter (when I want to sell it for example)

I wondered the same thing. I’m thinking it probably does need a rescan. I’ll ask at the shop next week.

FYI, at the time of this post the website is now showing a price of $680+tax with free shipping. It's not clear whether this is a temporary sale price or ...?

Price appears the same for 2021-2023 and for 2024+ requiring FDRS reprogramming at buyer's expense.

Much more palatable at that price, which is what I paid after a 15% flash sale discount (refunded to my original payment method after placing my order at $800).

But still and always .... not for everyone / YMMV.

I’m taking into consideration all the hard work that I think needs to go into researching something like this and then designing and putting together a custom hardness that makes the transition possible. With the prices of almost everything being so high today this seems like a reasonable price to me. I’m taking into consideration economies of scale also and anyone who knows basic economics knows that the price needs to be higher to cover R&D costs and manufacturing if it’s a low volume item.

Even if it's 'loss leader pricing' that's infotainment's marketing choice.

I think I did a poor job trying to get my message across Buyer2021 so sorry about that. I was trying to say I 100% agree with you and I was trying to convey this message but I didn't do a good job on that.
