I currently have stock Hankook Dynapros on 20" stock rims. They are almost worn put on the outer side of the all tires. So seraching on Costco I found three choices that i could put on : Michelin Defender LTX MS2 , BFG Trail Terrain T/A , Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent.

Which of these do you recommend? I driving is mostly city (15-25 miles daily), highway (100-200 miles once a month) and dirt road (10-20 miles once a month). PLease advice! I like how the stock hankook dynapros ride, Mileage is decent as well.

I’m in a similar situation with just over 30k on the original Dynapros. My cursory research tells me that the the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 are hands down the best tires for me, but vanity will push me to consider something more knobby and aggressive looking ?

The new general grabber HT is supposed to be great and reasonably priced.

I wouldn't go with the BFG Trail Terrains. I had a set on an SUV a long time ago, and they are nothing like the KO2-3 A/T tires. They're just road tires. I have never used the Michelin Defenders, but basically everyone says they're the best for a road tire, and if I didn't need AT capability I'd go with them.

I had the Michelins on my previous truck and they were easily the best tires I had on that truck. Better in snow and rain than all the AT tires I tried. Comfortable, quiet and long lasting. It's definitely what will go on my current truck when the time comes.

I have the Michelin LTX on my 2014 and have had them before. Great tire!

Michelin are mostly made in USA, some Canada.
Bridgestone are likely made in Canada.

I am most likely going with the Defender LTX M/S 2 on this truck soon. I had the previous version on my 2020 and it was a fantastic tire.

One competitor I'm considering that isn't on your list is the Continental TerrainContact H/T. Tire Rack's testing had it outperforming the Michelin. It's cheaper too. I just had great luck with the Michelin so I'm not sure I want to gamble.

You could try the Conti Terraincontact H/Ts as well. Very similar to the Michelin Defenders LTX M/S 2. I'd just buy whichever you can find a better deal on.
I have the Contis right now, they are great and very quiet. Same gas mileage as the stock hankooks that came on mine. slightly better mileage than the Falken AT3Ws.

didn't see your reply before I posted. I've had my conti H/Ts for about 15K miles. Really great wear so far. They are great in the snow as well. If you can get them cheaper than the Michelins, I'd go for it.

Good to know, thanks. I used to run A/Ts and the Michelins were the first tires I've had that I got good life out of. Snow isn't really an issue because I have a dedicated set of Bridgestone Blizzaks on separate wheels. Mainly concerned about wear, fuel economy, noise level, and that wet traction is good enough where I'm not tempted to constantly use 4A.
