Tune is great. I never bothered add the e-boost for $100, truck still uses the electric only mode plenty. Shifting is still the best improvement. Improved acceleration is fun too.
I'm installing the kicker hideaway 46hs10 when I receive it next week on my PB. I just have the basic non-B/O audio system. I don't plan on disconnecting anything. I've installed a sub a few times on different vehicles. I doubt it would do anything but I guess I'll find out!
You could argue this same point about tuning your truck as well. If a tune adds power and fuel efficiency, then why wouldn't Ford just sell the truck tuned that way?
I don't think a CAI is worth the $, but they do add a very small amount of power. Most of the websites show a 15hp gain. Might not...
I know it's a FB link, but 5-star didn't have that 2021+ 2.7 dyno on their website. They're claiming 334 RWHP & 409 RWTQ.
I seriously believe that. The 2.7 feels that way to me at least!
Livernoise claims 318 wheel HP and 396 wheel tq
I appreciate that all of the engine choices we have in the F-150 are fantastic.
Compared to base RAM 3.6 V6 and the Chevy 2.7L and 5.3L, I'll take ANY of the Ford engines.
I'm lucky enough to have company leased trucks for a few years at a time. I always choose the Ford. I had the 3.5, then the...
I drove a 2023 2.7 EB for nearly 90K trouble free miles and my transmission always sounded kinda of whiny like that. Especially idling at a drive thru I noticed, lol. I think it's just how they sound. All of the rentals I've had sound the same too. I don't think it's an issue.
Factory tires are usually worse than what you normally purchase at a tire shop. Have seen it with every new vehicle. (I get a new work vehicle every 3-4 years) If you look up those Dynapro AT2s, you'll see they even have a different tread pattern for the ones that come with new F-150s vs what is...
In Colorado, driving a passenger vehicle you are not required to have chains on a 4x4 vehicle assuming you're running all season tires with at least 3/16" tread.
I've lived here long enough and the law is a complete joke. "all season" tires are 99% of tires made and plenty of people crash every...
I'm lucky enough to just have work leased F-150s, but I've had all of them except the 5.0.
2020 3.5 EB
2023 2.7 EB
2025 3.5 PB
If I was to purchase a truck on my own dime, I'd probably go with the 2.7 unless I really needed the additional towing capacity. I drove that 2023 with the 2.7 to 80,000...
Makes me happy to have my 2025 XL!
I think the navigation was removed from the XL trim in 2024 though, maybe not. My previous 2023 XL had it.
I believe the middle screen should be the same as 2024/2025 though.
The infotainment screen will be the same. (The one in the middle of the truck with maps, etc...)
On the 2026 order guide it does state that the cluster screen in front of steering wheel will only be the 4" screen now just for the XL trim.
I have almost the same opinion about my Conti Terraincontact H/Ts. They are about the same performance and look as the Michelin LTX MS2s from what I could find.
I love how they handle on the road, even in snowy weather where I'm at.
...but yeah they just don't look at cool on my truck as any A/T...
Thanks for the write up. Was interesting to read. I haven't gotten to drive a RAM 1500 with the hurricane engine yet. I've had plenty of rentals with the 5.7 hemi. Always remember them being comfortable, even at the tradesmen base trim level.
I'm with some other people, never had any real...
I have a 2025 XL Powerboost and I put the 91-octane Livernois tune on it a couple weeks ago. I can confirm this is a very quick vehicle.
PBs are all heavy though. I went from a '23 2.7 weighing about 4,700 lbs to this '25 PB weighing 5,600 lbs.
I'd assume the 4x4 RCSB is lower 4,000s? Not sure.
There generally needs to be a reason to look for a tune on a warranty claim. I've seen numerous posts of people still getting warranty service after tuning their F150 with Livernois. The dealer makes money on warranty repairs, so really they have no reason to go out of their way to deny a claim...
