I'm traveling now, but surprisingly I don't have any closeup pics of the truck on my phone. I can post a few here in couple days when I'm back.
The H/Ts definitely don't look aggressive like an A/T, but I think they have a nice clean look to them.
Probably going to be waiting a while. They just came out with Ford performance tunes for the 2023 models in December of 2024. No tuning companies have been able to crack the ECMs to tune any 2024+ models either.
Yeah I figured it happens all the time, was just excited to see it built and now it's stuck for who knows how long. I'm sure it'll be great when I finally get it, just gotta be patient...
Checked for another update today, it's been 9 weeks since my truck was built. It's still at the plant on "quality assurance hold". Ford cannot provide a reason or ETA for when the truck will be release. I'm assuming something to do with PB engines.
The above advise is the best. There aren't many places in July that aren't swarmed. The highway I live off of southwest of Denver goes from a 15 minute drive from the grocery store to my house to a 45-60 min drive on Friday afternoons all summer because of campers and tourists. Definitely bring...
2025 4x4 XL SCREW w/ PB engine (fleet only 104A package)
Ordered 12/20/24
Scheduled build for week of 3/3/25
Built on 3/4/25
I checked again with the dealer today and Ford still says it's in a "on-hold non-shippable" status in Dearborn as of 4/28/25. Seems odd to be on hold for 8 weeks now...
2025 4x4 XL SCREW w/ PB engine (fleet only option)
Ordered 12/20/24
Built on 3/4/25
It's been on a "quality hold" in Dearborn since early March from what the fleet company and delivering dealer can tell me. No idea when I'm going to get it at this point.
didn't see your reply before I posted. I've had my conti H/Ts for about 15K miles. Really great wear so far. They are great in the snow as well. If you can get them cheaper than the Michelins, I'd go for it.
You could try the Conti Terraincontact H/Ts as well. Very similar to the Michelin Defenders LTX M/S 2. I'd just buy whichever you can find a better deal on.
I have the Contis right now, they are great and very quiet. Same gas mileage as the stock hankooks that came on mine. slightly better...
I'm running the JB4 on my 2023. The 2023's require an ECU swap to tune with Livernois or 5star if you have any ecoboost engine. I think the 2023 5.0 is still able to be tuned.
I'm planning on just using the same JB4 on my 2025 truck when I get it. They're super easy to install on the F-150s. No...
I went with Continental Terrain Contact H/Ts. Almost got the A/Ts, but decided I spend 99% of the time highway driving. Both seemed like great options.
I had E rated tires on a previous truck and they definitely feel worse. Would only get them if I was towing heavy or really needed them.
I'm pretty sure all trims, all packages of the F-150s come with the Ford Pass app. It might even be all Ford vehicles honestly. I have it on my 2023 XL. You can remote start, lock/unlock, and see tire pressure. That's about it, but super nice when I have to park the truck outside in the winter.
I'd have a Livernois tune if was available for the 2023 ECM on the ecoboosts. Hopefully someday one of these tuners will be able to get into the 2023 and newer models.
That's a good way to describe it honestly. Wouldn't consider it a premium upgrade from the smallest engine option now.
The 5.0 does sound sweet getting on the freeway though...
I thought the 2025 rental XLT was louder than my 2023 STX in terms of road noise....however it was very windy most of the time i was in the 2025 and my actual truck has H/T not A/T tires.
In case anyone might still be on the fence picking between these 2 engine options, I wanted to share my experience. So here's a short biased option of mine.
I own a 2023 STX 2.7. I've put about 72K miles on it in the past 2 years. Last week, I was able to snag a 2025 XLT 5.0 as a rental car for...
