They definitely create a blind spot at ~10 o'clock. That would be a pedestrian in a crosswalk when turning left. But, to me, the rear/side visibility gained more than offsets the visibility lost.... A professional truck driving friend, in fact, he teaches truck driving safety, has a 2021 with tow mirrors. Said they are overly big. A real PIA and cautioned against them.
