This forum specifically seems to have a very pro Powerboost bias. I've never understood it.

Go elsewhere and people :poop: all over them.
Well, I'm in a group with 24,000 members PB group, and there are some that have issues but many don't have any. My 21 has had one AUX failure, after that it's been super reliable. But you can look at groups across FB and see that it's all manufacturers these days, even Toyota now. I think it's just the look of the draw. Kind of stinks that it's come down to that, but here we are.

There's at least 500k PBs on the road. If they were particularly unreliable we'd be flooded with posts about them. Their owners are disproportionately represented online. In fact the first time we see some of the owners is when an issue pops up.

Let's run some numbers. 500k owners, a 1% issue rate would be 5k issues, if just 2 in 5 of those used social media, we'd see 2k reports of issues. What we've actually have seen is a dozen or two at most across any given issue? For bigger issues that eventually become a recall, at the time the recall is issued, and if it reports numbers of failures, we've seen with F150s in general that the number of online reports vs ford's numbers range somewhere between 1:15 and 1:40 on this forum in specific. Between the top 3 forums and FB in general those numbers for general F150s closes to 1:8 to 1:20. Again the early adopters that choose the PB are more likely to be found online already, or ready to pounce as soon as something crops up.

I'm more than happy with those odds, and just about everyone else should be too.

How many of those issues are PB specific? I see two from that short list. I too have a '22 PB and have not had 14 recalls, and the ones I did have had nothing to do with the hybrid system that I can remember. I'm no Ford or PB apologist, just seems weird when people throw out numbers like 14 recalls when 11-12 are likely F150 related and not the specific power train they're complaining about.

I have heard these complaints as well as Consumer Reports comments on Powerboost reliability. I traded my 21 PB with 67,000 miles for a 24 PB, which now has 13,000 miles. Neither truck has been to the dealer for ANYTHING except a windshield wiper recall in '21, and they were working perfectly. I've never even been told of any other recalls. Boy, do I love this/these truck(s)!

I had a '21 Lariat PB had a ton of recalls - cameras, body insulation pad that got loose, replacement of the center screen, windshield wipers, and something else. All good until 82K miles - transmission! Over and over - issue was with a sensor unique to the PB model - eventually they replaced the entire transmission with a new one. I got so tired of driving a crappy loaner and waiting 7 to 10 days during each repair ... I made a deal with the dealer (really good people and earned my business) ... they gave me a good trade on a '23 3.5 EB Lariat. So far so good, but some issues too - starter konked out, front air dam replaced three times and now in for something with the rear axle (75K miles now). I'm a Ford guy, so was my dad so I am a glutton for punishment I guess ... btw, this '23 was the first car I have ever purchased an extended warranty. Up to $5K in repairs with a cost of $1.8K ... hard to believe Ford is best in quality until you see what GM, ram and Toyota are going through - hate to be one of those guys.

Well, that's because they're pretty awesome. Fast AF (will school a Raptor) and the Propower system is incredibly useful if you have a travel trailer or need power for work sites. The only downside is a lower payload number. I have not had any reliability issues at all, through 45,000 miles.
I promise you the crappy payload numbers are not the only downside to owning a PB shit wagon. I've never had a vehicle in my life that had so many issues all the time. The mechanics at my location dealership know me so well they are on a first name basis with my children.

Mine has been rock solid other than replacing the OEM 12V battery which I did myself in 5 minutes. Zero time in the shop for anything other than regular maintenance. 2021 Lariat here.
I have the 21 Lariat as well and never a problem. Changed the junk tires it came with and still on the original battery that just threw up it's first warning during the last cold spell. I use the hell out of the generator. Not sure how others get along without it.
I think a lot of the complainers would be doing the same or worse with something else. It's just their nature.

I have said this before and I’ll say it again - Ford shot themselves in the foot with the heat exchanger issue. Not having spare parts kept many trucks at the dealership waiting, and only to have it fail again.

The only recalls I have had were to do with the wiper motor and another couple of others that turned out to be a non issue on mine. ( can’t remember what)
Sorry that you had issues, but no vehicle brand or model is going to be perfect.

You're kidding, right? Feel free to read any of my posts and educate yourself on the shit that's been happening to my PB shit wagon if you're looking for validation bud.
