Am I reading this correctly that the 21s will also get LCA, In lane repositioning, and predictive speed assist?
Yes. What is not known is when. The software is ready, but the deployment has been problematic for Ford and is on hold for all vehicles.

I think I'm on 6.8, so come on 7.0!

I haven’t really driven my truck on the highway in a while. I did have it at the dealer recently for a new battery and they did the wiper recall.

Last time that I was messing with lane centering as well as the first time the way it worked was like a toggle; so whatever you set it to last time is whatever it was set at the next time you utilized it.

Having these auto-default settings and stupid bullshit like the self canceling recirculate reduces situational awareness.

Things like lane centering and cruise control are supposed to reduce the driver’s work load and make things safer but having unexpected outcomes and needing unnecessary button pushing is contrary to that goal.

I usually leave lane centering on along with my cruise control and while it would annoy me if I had to turn it on every time if Ford decided it would cancel along with the CC. It would almost make more sense than what Ford decided to so which just seems like an afterthought.

Also; why can’t Ford figure out how to leave the drive mode in Eco without me having to reselect it every time I start the truck?
I had the same issue with eco where I had to use the selector every time I start the truck. After a massive round of fdrs updates recently, truck now asks if I want to return to eco on start up.

Since day one, if I were to press the Cruise Control button on the steering wheel, it would enable Cruise Control ONLY (Lane Keep Assist or Lane Centering would not auto-engage).

I updated the truck this morning with FDRS, and now whenever I press the Cruise Control Button, it also auto-enables LKA or LC (depending on what I have in the settings).

Is there a FORSCAN mod to have it not auto-enable with Cruise Control? I use Cruise Control WAY more without LKA/LC than I do with it. I still want to be able to hit the steering wheel button to turn on LKA/LC when I want it, I just don't want it to auto-enable.

Help!!

Someone on the other F150 forums has also noticed this change:

Go into Driver Assistance from main screen, open adaptive cruise control then turn lane centering off. Haven’t confirmed but see if that works.

That setting toggles between LC and LKA when ACC is used, and according to your selection, it still auto-enables (LC/LKA) when you hit the ACC on the steering wheel.

I am one of those old fashioned drivers who prefers to keep his hands on the steering wheel and my eyes on the road.

What is needed is a way to disable cell phones when the vehicle is moving. My navigation systems in my cars do that and it is considered a safety feature. More of problem with fools thinking that they can drive and text or make phone calls and the traffic accident increases prove it.

LKA is far less intrusive than the LC. Also, LKA doesn’t create the crazy oscillation as much as some have complained about when using LC while trailering.

You can set the LKA thresholds to where they barely do anything.

The crazy thing is that Ford says to never use LC while towing a trailer and then for them to give no choice in the matter is mind boggling.

This is the normal behavior. It "should" ask if you want to return to the previous mode if it was something other than Normal. It may ask and remove the prompt so quickly that you don't notice. Mine has done this since day one on my '22.

Agreed. I was just saying that I used to see the same bug, but some update from the last year fixed it for me. I do wonder if it “resets” after a period of time and won’t ask. I feel like that has happened a few days recently after my truck sat for 24 hours or more. I’ll have to test.

Yeah, I could see that. There have been times that I didn't think it asked me when I knew I had previously left it in eco or some other mode. Maybe it timed out or maybe I just missed it.

I do so few Bluecruise miles that I disabled the eye scanner so that I could enjoy the Hands-On version of Bluecruise every day. (recently turned it back on for some testing)
Snakebitten, I've read the owner's manual regarding Blue Cruise operation and there is no reference to being able to disable the eye scanners. How does one accomplish this?

I ask because I am actively looking to purchase a new F150 and learning the details of Ford's driving technologies, e.g., Copilot vs Blue Cruise, is a top objective. I'm also concerned what driving technologies will be active if I buy a truck with BC but decide to not purchase the subscription. None of this is covered in the owner's manual and I haven't met a salesman yet that knows the difference between them.

Good for you doing due diligence before acquiring the truck. Not so much that you will be proficient in using all the onboard technology right off the bat, but more so that you might understand all the configurations these trucks can be found with. Just understanding the names Ford uses can be confusing, and potentially misleading the consumer to think they have features they don't, or vice versa.

As for the eye scanner.....
Yeah, the manual isn't going to tell you how to disable her. (the wicked witch, she can be)

It's a one line edit with Forscan.
Takes 1 minute.
And the guru provided the necessary digital on/off switch for me.
(note: the "what it was" value is for my specific truck)

In reading this thread I’m glad to know I’m not crazy, has anyone found a way to disable lane centering when you turn on cruise control?

before December update, I enable cruise control, and it turns on and sets with 1 click, no lane centering

After the update, it now also enables lane centering, even though I don’t have lane keep enabled when not in CC.

Lane centering is super annoying, I’d be happy completely disabling it if that’s the only option in forscan. Ideally it would just not auto-enable, so I could use it when I decide to.

In the 23's and 24's I have driven, it is an option to select/deselect under Cruise Control
