Since day one, if I were to press the Cruise Control button on the steering wheel, it would enable Cruise Control ONLY (Lane Keep Assist or Lane Centering would not auto-engage).

I updated the truck this morning with FDRS, and now whenever I press the Cruise Control Button, it also auto-enables LKA or LC (depending on what I have in the settings).

Is there a FORSCAN mod to have it not auto-enable with Cruise Control? I use Cruise Control WAY more without LKA/LC than I do with it. I still want to be able to hit the steering wheel button to turn on LKA/LC when I want it, I just don't want it to auto-enable.

Help!!

Someone on the other F150 forums has also noticed this change:

Isn’t their a lane Assist/Centering button on the steering wheel?

Yep, and pressing the button will toggle LKA/LC on and off ... that's not the issue.

Engaging cruise control after my FDRS updates now AUTOMATICALLY engages LKA/LC without me hitting that button.

There is another thread discussing an update that got pushed out, and in that thread, it mentions what changed:

https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/attachments/fpu-7-0-x-pdf.105237/

In that document:

"One button activation: On the road activation of BlueCruise just got easier. Simply press the Adaptive Cruise Control button on your steering wheel to activate BlueCruise while in a Blue Zone. No need to also press the Lane Assist button on the steering wheel."

While my truck DOES NOT have BC, I bet that change is for ALL TRUCKS.

So ... if there is a FORSCAN mod to have it NOT auto-engage, I sure would like to know.

If there is, I doubt the guys that figure these things out have looked into it yet, as it is something few people will benefit from at this time.

Mine does the same after I did the last updates. CC turns on LC even tho it was not on to start with. LC will stay on until a key cycle or untill you turn it off. But turn on CC and on comes LC.

Edit: you can just hit the switch and turn it off right away... PITA.

I imagine as such. Mainly just wanted to get the word out on the forums so if it does bother enough people, perhaps someone would find a cure.

Well, that at least confirms I'm not crazy, and that something did change.

These are some of the BC 1.4 software updates. I noticed these values in the forscan sheet a while back and now they are finally being rolled out. I kinda wonder what they did exactly and this must be it. In the IPMA towards the bottom there are some values related to these instant on features. You may try to disabled them and that might get you back to just cruise enabling normally.

Wouldn’t that same thing cause BlueCruise to enable every time we hit the cruise button for those of us with BlueCruise? Or is that a dumb question? ?

I have always just used that lane button on the steering wheel to essentially control when I want BC on or off.

Maybe I'm hallucinating but I'm of the thinking that mine has always come on when I turn on the cruise. At first I thought the feature was junk because it ping ponged from side to side (lane keeping) then I figured out that lane centering was different and enabled it on the touchscreen, features? maybe?

Do you guys also have BlueCruise? I'm finding the lane centering to be useless. It only activates when in Cruise control, And with the lane keeping/Blue cruise button on. Yes, That enables lane centering, but also hands on BlueCruise. Then what's the point of the lane centering?? I have to have the Lane centering/Bluecruise on and drive manually (No Cruise Control) if I want the lane centering to work.
