I am going to do that soon, thank you. I wasn’t aware of the program to borrow the cable, that’s a big help

that said, are you guys sure you cant use the way that blue diamond v2 seems to keep the truck and incorporate that into the newer profiles or make a new one?

here’s a picture, you can see how in lanefull setting, it recognizes the yellow line and pulls me towards it as opposed to defining the edge of the road on the right. Or that’s how it seems at least with my limited understanding of this

Comma removed the lateral planner and incorporated a lot of lateral logic directly into the model, that is why "lanefull" died, and there is no real way to bring it back.

When we release bluepilot 2.0 it will have an "in-lane offset" so you can position yourself left or right of what the model wants, but it won't be dynamic depending on what lane you are in.

Ah, that’s a bummer they ditched it, I really like the way this profile performs with lane placement. It’s just a bit stale compared to some of the newer ones.

I’ll stick to this one until you roll that out though. I highly suggest people try Blue Diamond V2 and set it to lanefull only then test it out. You’ll like the way it gets you off the shoulder.

I see there was an update to staging. I also happen to notice that custom offsets are functioning for me now, but I’m not sure if that’s because I’m on blue diamond and just noticed it.

They work on blue diamond. The updates are just fixing the default tuning values.

Did the most recent update change anything related to steering torque? Just did the update yesterday getting lots of warnings about steering torque and the truck is not able to take turns anywhere near as well as it was before this update.

It shouldn't have changed anything but default tuning values (which should not affect anyone who was already on the branch), but double check "High Curvature Factor" and make sure it is higher than 0.98. For some reason some vehicles keep setting it to 0.90, which is what I keep making updates to try and fix.

This is on a fresh install with no changes made.

So I should change from .90 to .98?

Yes, change 0.90 to 0.98 or 0.99 (depending on how bad you have problems with it cutting curves too tight). I can't for the life of me figure out why that keeps happening.

We’ve gotten some pretty conclusive evidence that updating the PSCM and IPMA with FDRS improves the performance of lane centering, including when Comma is in control. I’ll recommend everyone who can get on the list to get a loaner mongoose and update their trucks.

Does it improve issues with ping-ponging? I added a 2" level kit to my truck and started having issues occasionally with ping-ponging. Typically on 3 lane interstates in the middle lane when driving 75mph. Slower speeds, no problem, roads with a solid line on one side no problem, but in the middle lane I get a slight ping-pong motion that drives me nuts.

Yes, it primarily helps with ping pong.

I didn't lift mine, stock height, but recently went through updating my modules. It dramatically made a difference on my truck. Had ping-pong with both Bluecruise and the Comma. Well worth doing it.

Pushing the limits to test the next release. Rock solid at these speeds.
