I’ve already got a dash cam and radar detector stashed back there ?You can get it mostly hidden behind the rearview mirror.
Perfect Thank you!
I’m okay with not having stop sign/red light recognition.
Now I just need to convince myself to be okay with having the screen on my windshield.
You'll get used to the screen on the windshield. Just a slight head bob and weave to get past the small blindspot while looking to the right.I’ve already got a dash cam and radar detector stashed back there ?
Ordering now.
in the next 4-6 weeks we will be pushing a huge update, one aspect of that will be a Ford specific menu for tweaking the ford tuning. You might be able to tune the ping pong out once you have access to that menu.Trying to see if anyone has any experience or recommendations for an issue I've had for over a year. I've spoken with Ajzride a couple of times about it, with him looking into my files but still haven't had any luck.
Whenever I have my truck in a two lane highway or more lanes, and I'm in the far right lane, the truck will drift to the right. It will get into a ping pong match, closer to the right edge of the lane then back to the center. It's very nauseating at some points and I have to turn it off. If I'm in any other lanes it works great. Zero pong pong happens. Seems if the road has a slight slope to the right, and while in the far right lane, it will do this.
Things I've tried are tire pressure, wheel balancing, alignment, nearly every model available, complete reinstall from factory on the Comma 3X.
It's unfortunately gotten to the point of possibly selling it. Majority of the main highways I drive in Virginia are 2 lane and I don't drive fast enough to stay in the left lanes where it works great.
I hope to get it working, but after a year of it never getting better I fear I won't. If anyone has a recommendation I'd love to hear it.
I thought I remember you mentioning this in another post but couldn't find it, thought I lost my mind. I will gladly wait and give it a try.in the next 4-6 weeks we will be pushing a huge update, one aspect of that will be a Ford specific menu for tweaking the ford tuning. anyone got a pic of what this looks like mostly hidden from drivers pov? Can the screen be turned off?You can get it mostly hidden behind the rearview mirror.
I think the screen can be turned off with sunnypilot or bluepilot, not stock OP. I will try to remember to check tomorrow.anyone got a pic of what this looks like mostly hidden from drivers pov? Can the screen be turned off?
Give me till Friday and I’ll have pictures of it hidden, waiting for some Amazon brackets to come in.anyone got a pic of what this looks like mostly hidden from drivers pov? Can the screen be turned off?
For comparison, I mounted mine right at the bottom of the mirror, from my driving perspective; this is the only photo I could find (dog rescue... he was happy to make himself at home
Thanks for the info and all the work you guys put towards ping-pong. The roads I have issues with are mainly asphalt that are semi smooth. Sometimes ping-pong will happen in center lanes or the far left lane, not often though. The right lane gives me the biggest issues, where it drifts to the right due to the slope of the road for draining, it seems. Here is my truck info below.Your's is definitely lower than everyone else's, but no that is not causing the ping pong.
Yesterday @rwxr_xr_x and I met for about 6 hours of testing. He was able to drive and I could monitor all of the data in real-time on a laptop from the passenger seat. We learned a whole lot about the control and specifically we spent about two hours working on ping-pong. His truck has stock suspension and wheels, which makes it ping pong much worse than mine. At one point we had his truck humming along at 85mph with zero ping pong or even steering wheel wiggle. But later those exact same settings had such terrible ping pong it would make you sick. The difference between the two was the road itself. In the portion we couldn't stabilize, the road was concrete and the way the expansion joints were laid out, it caused the car to have a steady up and down bounce. The ping pong was perfectly in rhythm with the bounce. Since the road has a crown for draining, the camera moving up and down also causes a very slight side to side motion as well, and it's enough to completely throw off the comma device. It's not something we can fix in Ford translation, it will have to be fixed at the model by Comma.
Based on yesterday's testing we are going to be overhauling the lateral control logic for the next release of bluepilot and adding a ton of in-menu tuning to customize your experience. This will hopefully help your issue a lot, but there may be times where it will still ping pong and can't be stopped.
What type suspension, wheels and tires do you have?
What are the roads like? Are they smooth blacktop or do you have bumpy/rolling surfaces?
