So question on 4A. If I have the truck in eco or normal is the truck always going to default on start up back to 2H or if I had 4A selected in the previous key cycle should it stay in 4A on the next cycle?

It'll stay in 4A with Normal, I haven't tried it in Eco.

? I will have to test it in normal. I had it in 4A in eco the other day and on the next key cycle it switched back to 2H.

I leave mine in 4A 24/7/365

It only changes to 2WD if you change drive modes, for example when I go from sport to normal, it drops to 2WD.

Eco.....i can't even imagine using that awful mode, so no idea what that does. But 2wd is more "efficient", ever so slightly.

ECO will always default to the "ECOnomical" mode on restart which would be 2High.

Earlier tonight I decided to try running a TCCM PMI on my truck with a new TM379 (ML3A-7H417-TA). I was interested to see what would happen since there have been reports that running a PMI after manually entering the wrong VIN no longer works.

In my case, the PMI ran without any issues using the method described below. All my drive modes work as intended, and my hi-lock transfer case is mechanically locking in 4H as it should. I don't have any idea why this method isn't working in every instance, so I will try to include as much information as possible to see if a variable can be isolated.

I started by opening FDRS and manually entering the VIN of the truck I ordered parts for (402A Tremor), downloading the TCCM PMI, hitting run TCCM PMI, and only connecting my J2534 to my OBD2 port after the progress bar appeared on my screen. My truck is a 302A XLT so going by the VIN I have the wrong transfer case and TCCM installed, but I didn't have any part number or VIN verification issues.

I'm currently running FDRS version 37.4.7 on a laptop running Windows 10 Pro version 22H2, and I'm using a Drewtech CarDaq3 Plus J2534 with a wired connection.

Well it’s not “awful” I like it. I like the green gauge color. I like the softer pedal. Makes it even easier for me to stay in electric mode. I suppose if you don’t have a powerboost then eco mode is less useful. I’m one who drives my truck most of the time for efficiency and mpg. So every little bit helps. Having said that. I have tested both modes and yes in normal 4A stays. Eco goes back to 2H.

Wait so what do trucks have now if they don’t have the electric IWE’s?

Our trucks have either eIWEs or axles that spline directly into the hubs without any unlocking mechanism like a FWD car would have.

All 21 trucks have IWEs. 22+ 4a trucks (lariat, platinum, limited) have continuously connected axles with no means to disconnect them from the differentials / axles. All other trims have IWEs. The issues for 22+ trucks with full-locking transfer cases only like XLs and XLTs that go to the 4a transfer case must use the 21s TCCM so that it can lock up its IWEs in 4a/4wd. No changes for tremors / raptors from 21+

Your truck @tony72cutlass's' has IWEs in them to unlock axle is 2WD

Can you tell me which of the rubber tubes/hoses is related to the IWE? I have a MY22 PB XLT 302A High.

Atlee, those "rubber tube hoses" can be misleading when discussing IWE.
For decades the hose was a vacuum hose, so it's easy to mistake one of the hoses on your IWE as being such.

They aren't.
1 is a low voltage wire.
The other is just a vent tube to atmosphere.
