HVAC module programming error

So the notes I have say go to 7D0-02-02 *xxx-xxxx-xxxx *use 4. Then someone else mentioned using 0. So I’d try 4, write it, and then reset and see if it goes away.

Truthfully, no idea what I used bc I did a bunch of forscan this weekend.

APIM reset needs to be performed but mine went away without.

I couldn't flash firmware on my new module either.

That worked to remove the 2 temp readouts on the top of the APIM screen for you?

Just curious because looking at the spreadsheet for that address, it looks like 4 is the one that has “DFC Disabled”, where 0 keeps it enabled.

EDIT again, well I had a 4 in there already, so I put a 0 in there and it worked. Thanks guys.

I swapped mine today. I did a “save all” from the original and then connected the new one. Did a “load all”.
All the functions work when the car is turned on with key.

when I do an auto start from my remote the steering wheel warmer and seats do not start up like they used to.

there is a DTC on HVAC

Additional fault symptom
-not programmed

For the remote start, make sure your settings are all correct in the regular truck settings. They might have been reset. Also, if it’s on auto and it’s not cold enough they might not come on.

As for the DTC, you will always have that now with the old HVAC module. Like Jesse mentioned. It’s harmless.

I tried it this morning, much colder outside. From auto start the steering wheel and seat INDEED turn on, but lights on the AC control panel are off. (i guess i didn't take not of this before on the original unit) Everything lights up normally once you press the start button.

Good to know that the DTC is normal, but would this through a red flag if i were to take it into the dealer for any warranty work? Its a new truck, 1500 miles. I was hoping there were no codes so everything would look oem.

Good to hear on the remote start.

The DTC should not cause for a red flag. There are always going to be DTC’s in there even on a 100% stock truck. A DTC is not a check engine light. Just keep your OEM HVAC module and if for some crazy reason you needed to you could just toss it back in and the DTC would go away.

I have the same thing even after a fresh clearing of DTC’s.

Not sure if relevant or coincident..
I noticed that my passenger vents were blowing cold air while drivers side blowing hot. “Dual” was turned off.

the module I bought was “new”
I’m going to have to swap over my original over the weekend and see if I get the same code

FDRS has a procedure for the module to learn the range of motion for the dampers. Since I had a valid FDRS license when I did the swap, I ran that procedure. I could hear the dampers moving. Running the procedure did not change the DTC.

We got it, all is good now.

Jesse was able to write to the module. Not sure exactly what he did, but he got it.

We weren’t able to flash the firmware but that shouldn’t matter as everything is working fine with the old firmware.

After Jesse helped me get mine up and running, I also received a customized version of Forscan that allowed me to write to the HVAC module.

Send me a PM with an email address and I’ll send it to you. Try that first and if that doesn’t work, you can try to tag Jesse in for help.
