In the early hero cards for the Tremor, they made it sound as if all Tremors were going to have 4A.Agreed, I was really wanting 4a and looking at a lariat but ended up in an XLT and I didn't know 4a doesn't exist under lariat.
Luckily it seems fairly straightforward to add, but I'm going to hold off until the ECU is cracked and I decide whether I want to swap for a powerboost or not
I'd consider a XLT over an XL. XLs don't have as good deals and w/ the ~$3k price difference you get a whole lot more. 301 is a great value, but the 302 (+$2k) comes with full 10way/8way power heated seats, bluecruise (and lane centering when not sub'd), welcome lighting with keyfob, turn signal / spot light mirrors. Arguably the best value proposition. For another $600 you can get the powerboost that comes w/ the 2.4kW inverter to power the house.Just as an update, today I called ram customer service and requested a buyback of my truck. I was told to expect to hear from someone in 2-3 days, we'll see. I'm expecting the initial answer to be no but at least the ball is rolling.
I'm not saying don't do it, but think carefully before you do. The lemon law case on mine is dragging on, I've made 5 payments now on the ram. I think I myself put about 600 miles on it total. My new '24 xl rcsb has yet to give me any trouble. Your mileage may vary, and obviously has if you own a ford troublemaker that's driving you crazy. It's just that ram may not be the cure.I'm currently looking at dumping my always broken F-150 and getting a 2025 Ram 1500 Limited instead. $20,000 less than anything comparable at Ford and full of creature comforts.
I don't really trust any brand these days but have no intention of ever owning a Ford product after the way they have handled my current and ongoing problems with my truck. Today marks 280 days that I have not had my truck and like you, I get to keep making that loan and insurance payment without it even sitting in my driveway. Quality control and reliable parts are no longer available in our current environment.I'm not saying don't do it, but think carefully before you do. I’ve read about the issues you have had. It’s truly disheartening.I don't really trust any brand these days but have no intention of ever owning a Ford product after the way they have handled my current and ongoing problems with my truck. I am a very patient person but as of this week, that patience is gone and i have a very bad opinion of Ford Motor Company as a whole due to their refusal to make things right. That truck was dump worthy more than a year ago. Your threshold of pain is beyond my comprehension.
Although a current Ram wouldn't be where I'd draw the next card from the deck. Personally.
Honestly, as crazy as it might sound, if I were looking for a 1/2 truck with the emphasis on least likely to visit a service department, it'd be a Tundra built currently. Post main bearing fiasco. Toyota is likely to be hyper-focused on what they were already good at, which is Quality Control and good engineering. Their huge snafu and the bad press that came with it, ironically could be way in favor of the Tundra consumer. Or put another way, there probably hasn't been a better Tundra built in the current generation than the one that came off the assembly line last night.
Having said all that, there ISN'T a Tundra built for me as the target buyer. But if Toyota would give me 1 more foot of bed length, and an inverter on the Hybrid battery? As well as finding some way to give me 1500 lbs of Payload...... I'd go get one today.
But they don't and they aren't going to.
It's just not how they play the game.
