As soon as i get a few minutes of daylight that will be the first things I check. I hope it's that simple.
If it's not power or ground related, a new SCCM may be in your near future.

That should work for you. You will just need to make the necessary Forscan changes after.
So I have a 2023 f150 lariat that will need heated steering wheel, wire harness to bcm, hvac module and upgraded sccm. If I get the MLZ14A664B and use my stalk, backplate and auto tilt button do the electric connector blades on this part pass through my backplate when installed or are there intermediary electric connectors that this part plugs into in backplate and backplate has separate electric blase connectors that wire sockets plug into?

Get the beta version of Forscan and do a firmware update on the SCCM. That procedure will update the rest of the truck’s modules with the information from the SCCM. Basically tells everybody the new kid is part of the team now. Make sure you read every detail of the firmware update procedure in the Forscan forums sticky about the process. Follow the directions and it’s pretty simple, skip a step and then you’ll brick a module and hate life until you get it fixe.
So you purchased the MLZ14A664B, removed your existing one, popped this in with new heated steering wheel and forscan programming and everything works? I have a 2023 f150 lariat powerboost hybrid with adaptive cruise control and want to do same. Keep seeing that this part says not for active steering? is adaptive cruise same thing?

Active steering is not the same. I know the part number I got for my HVAC unit I needed is ml3z19980k. This is for trucks with heated steering wheel, heated seats, cooled seats, rear window defroster. Also, you get the digital numbers in the knobs. This is also for lariat and above that has dual control HVAC. I know on gas engine trucks Lariats do not have active steering, I seriously doubt if you do. The parts that you were talking about though were all I needed. I took apart the cover on the steering column and I could see on the back of my SCCM module that I had the two wire plug going into a blank, I even had a fuse in the correct position. So once I put those three parts in and change the fForscan settings that I needed to it worked. But I was throwing a code for the HVAC unit not being programmed or something. I had to get the beta version of foreskin which allows you to do firmware updates on modules. You have to have a one year paid license in order to access the part of the Forscan forum that will allow you to download it. Make sure you read all of the instructions completely for how to do a firmware update. If you buy a new HVAC module with the part number, I gave you it will already have the most current firmware on it. That doesn’t matter, force reload the firmware, and in that process forscan will tell all the other modules the information about that new HVAC. That gets rid of the code. ml3z3f791bb is the SCCM I used.

Joe, Thx for response. I just looked through a square opening and I see I also have two wired plugs in back of sccm. Looks like two blue wires. If i just get the clockspring part # MLZ14A664B and install my stalk, power tilt button and force program do you know if that will work? also when you detach clockspring from back base does its connector blades pass through slots in back base or does the back base have sockets on inside that clockspring plugs into and its own blades in back? Also instead of replacing hvac module to have steering wheel button can screen be programmed to have soft button heated steering wheel? i have seen this on the forums but not in depth.

No, you most likely need the part I gave the number for, I you pull the two wire plug from the back of the SCCM/clock spring I’ll bet you find it doesn’t have any contacts. That was how I found mine.

If you have pulled the air bag you will clearly see if the socket on ACCM front is s dummy or wired.

You will also see if you have a heated wheel already. Some have.

What everyone tens to forget is just check the plug at the BCM and see if pin 15 is occupied.

Here is a photo of the rear of the ACCM

I’ve received my heated steering wheel and clock spring assembly from Tasco today. The clock spring assembly I ordered is the one with the blinker and electric telescoping and up and down buttons already attached. So the clock spring is already attached to the rest of the assembly. My question: all the videos I see about the clock spring show the white plug in place to prevent the clock spring from turning. Mine doesn’t have that. Is it because when it’s already attached to the blinker assembly that it doesn’t need that “stopper” plug or has this part been tinkered with or messed up in transit? Anyone know? I may begin the retrofit tomorrow.

Yes, I’m talking about that white plastic plug, but my clock spring came installed on the assembly that has the blinker on it. It was part ML3Z-3F791-BB. Since it’s already installed on the backer assembly I’m wondering if that is why the white plastic plug isn’t there. All the pictures and videos show the plastic plug on the clock spring but the clock spring as a free standing past—not already on the blinker and wheel telescopic buttons part.
