If anyone else is annoyed at the crazy prices for the WPT-404 kit for what is essentially a plug and some pins, you can buy the pieces separately from mouser.

The connector is a Yazaki 7283644540
Mouser Link

The pins are p/n 7116411102, you'll need at least 2 for the connector.
Mouser Link

Then, as a bonus, if you need the pins to tap into C2280a, I believe they are Aptiv Apex 2.8mm pins p/n 10757690-L - but I haven't verified this yet.

No, you will need to use Forscan to enable the heated wheel to turn on when you press the heated wheel button on the HVAC module, along with telling the truck that you have an SCCM that has the heated wheel function

Ok, I need some help with my heated steering wheel install. I have a '23 XLT 302A with heated seats. I installed the HVAC controls NL3Z-19980-S to add the heated steering wheel button. I installed the heated steering wheel SCCM (ML3T-14B522-BNW), and lariat wheel. I also installed the power harness made by jscaro.

I loaded my backed up as built data, and then changed the settings per the heated steering wheel spreadsheet. Now it's throwing several DTCs and neither the heated seats or heated steering wheel work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

DTC:
HVAC B103A:11 Right Front Seat Heater Sensor - Short to Ground
HVAC B1038:11 Left Front Seat Heater Sensor - Short to Ground
HVAC U2024:51 Control Module Cal-Config Data - Not Programmed
SCCM B112B:49 Steering Wheel Module - Internal Electronic Failure
Looks like loading your asbuilt didn't take. Try to swap back in your original HVAC and see what codes you have then still. Are the new to you modules you got new or used?

2021 F-150 XLT 302A but beginner with respect to Forscan and FDRS. This is an awesome thread - thanks to all contributors.
After reading the thread several times, I have a couple of questions:
1. Do I need to use FDRS/Mongoose to perform the PMI on the new SCCM and HVAC modules, or is using just FORSCAN enough?
2. There is a big price difference between the SCCM Pl3z 3F791 HB and the ML3Z-3F791-BB. What is the difference between them? Can I use either?
3. Does it matter if I buy new vs. used for the SCCM and HVAC modules?

Thanks in advance.

They are new modules. When I swapped back and cleared the errors, none of the listed DTCs appeared. I do have the Forscan beta version, should I try updating the firmware on the HVAC and SCCM? Is there a specific version that I should use or just the latest?

Just diving into adding a HSW to my '23 Lariat. In the walk through video link that is posted on the OP, it looks like he runs a positive and ground wire from the fuse box. Hoping I don't have to do that and already have power there. My understanding is that some trucks don't need to run the power from the fuse box. What would I need to look for to figure this out?

Worth a shot to update them, especially if they are older modules. Try to match them up to what yours have right now. Or try to swap one at time, see if one module is the main culprit to the codes.

If you have a 23 good chance it is already prewired. You need to look behind the SCCM in the steering column to see if the 2 pin power wire is there or not.

2. There is a big price difference between the SCCM Pl3z 3F791 HB and the ML3Z-3F791-BB. What is the difference between them? Can I use either? I used the BB and removed the un needed stock and electric adjustment. Not sure about the HB
3. Does it matter if I buy new vs. used for the SCCM and HVAC modules?careful with the sccm, they burn out when the airbag deploys. I didn't change the hvac modules, I used the software bottom. Didn't like having the cooled seat buttons without the actual seats.

Thanks in advance.

Finally back working on the truck after a round with the flu. When I put the old HVAC module in the truck, no error codes are present and the heated seats work as expected (old module has no heated steering wheel button though). I also reloaded the as-built data from my backups and forscan said no changes were present.

The HVAC and SCCM DTCs I posted previously are all still present.

I attempted to update the new HVAC module, but forscan can't seem to find the ECU configuration.

New HVAC module:

@Jesse-Infotainment @superfordman Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Ah, I know what your problem is now, unfortunately that HVAC won't work in your case, since it has cooled seat functionality, your DSM doesn't have that so that is why things aren't happy between the two. I should have caught that sooner but still shaking the cobwebs off this how process trying to think through it again. Others have tried quite a bit but unless you add everything for cooled seats, which isn't very simple, it won't work. I think your only option now is the APIM button to make it function.

Hello, any new data points recently on vehicles that fit the requirements but did not receive a letter and the VIN is not in the oasis system, getting the HSW added? Dealing with this now and dealer is not able to help. Also spent a long while on the phone with Ford Corporate to no avail. Service says call Ford, Ford says call Service.

I'm not comfortable installing this myself, just looking to see if anybody else recently has had any success in getting this taken care of. It's a very odd situation in that the letter is clear on the requirements, but in my experience that doesn't matter. "if the $140 credit was on the window sticker (mine was), they aren't going to replace it for free". "
