I upgraded my 22 302a with the Heated Steering Wheel a few months back and went with the on screen software button. Just wondering if I have any other options to change the overall screen display? Seems I am on a f250/350 setup and don't have full android auto screen. Ford info bars top and bottom.
Thanks for any help

I tried a 23 Bronco module in my 23 XLT and I got codes for shorted humidity and temperature sensor. The driver side temp control also appeared to be reversed, I had heat output at all temp settings from LO to 85, then I got cool air at HI setting.
I was going to download the wiring diagrams to see if a swap harness could be made but have been working so much I haven't had time.
The F150 knobs and recirc button swap right in also.
I would be quite interested if you could figure this out. To my knowledge, there is not a F150 HVAC module that has the heated steering wheel option without the ventilated seat buttons.

After months of procrastinating to purchase the parts followed by months of the parts sitting in boxes in my garage, I finally got everything installed today. Everything works as expected but the one thing I noticed is the infotainment screen seems to reset back to a default combo (audio on the left and climate on the right I think) every time the truck restarts. Is this typical behavior when you have it configured to use the soft button on the screen? Also, many thanks to everyone who figured out how to make this possible and shared it with the community.

Has anyone been able to upgrade a 2024 XLT to heated steering wheel yet? It's starting to get cold up here in Michigan!

I wish I could assist, but sadly, my skill set is limited to the '21-'23 models. Hopefully, others with a '24+ can comment on if there is currently a solution for those years.

Check out CSS OEM , he said they are working it. He will offer the kit when available

I'm not sure if this will work or not but instead of replacing the HVAC controls for the HSW button, you guys could try enabling the soft button in Sync with the following in FORScan:

APIM 7D0-02-02 xxx* xxxx xx--
APIM 7D0-02-01 xxxx *xxx xx-

I'm on my way to install the steering wheel now but I can't find the APIM codes to enable soft button. I'm looking for the list that states the changes to make according to our set up

2022 F150 Lariat
I popped into my only local dealer yesterday, inquired if they were able to do this swap - was a hard no from them. I have been wanting to add heated steering to my 2022 Lariat and I am comfortable with mechanics and doing the work. What makes me slightly hesitant is the Forscan programming - I really don't want to mess that up. I have the cable, I haven't had the nerve to go and use it yet.

My question here - my 501A Lariat does not already have any climate controls on my screen. I was hoping to simply do the coding for this option so is this something that I can add through Forscan? If not, will adding the hard button work without needing the coding on my screen?

Thanks

You can use forscan to change the truck to a super duty look. It will give you the software button. Or you can change the hvac controls to add the actual button. Both would require forscan work. Best the check you tube and the 302a xlt conversation posted on the 1st page of this thread.
I spend about 20 hours doing all the research and building a guide to do my 302a xlt. I went into forscan and made note of all my stock codes prior to making any changes. In some cases the instructions were not 100% correct for my build. I had to make a couple of educated guesses. The clock spring/ wheel and wireing are the physical stuff. The forscan stuff sould be done with a clear head and lots of research.

Research and planning is definitely important with this. Become very familiar with @Livnitup's Forscan spreadsheet as well as the current values for your truck. This will provide the information you need to set the new values. Also, prior to making any changes, back up every module that you will be touching. As long as you do these things, there is very little risk.

Exactly my situation. I've never used Forscan so would love to see you do I write up for the 501A Lariat. Looking to do this after Christmas.

2024 F-150 XL Regular Cab
For those with 2024 trucks, I've found that we all likely have a fused heated steering wheel +12V circuit installed in our vehicles from the factory.

I recently traced the wiring in my 2024 XL, Regular Cab Short Box, and documented the heated steering wheel power wiring in this 2024 wiring thread:

https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/2024-rcsb-xl-pre-wired-discussion.27636/#post-545554

To the best of my knowledge, the correct SCCM and coding for `24's is still yet to be figured out though. Power to the SCCM is the first step though...
