Your guide was super helpful and was a huge part of my successful install.
It's also worth noteing to review your own forscan coding before moving forward. Many of my codes were very different. In forscan my truck shows as not having heated seats(it does). Best to leave the truck thinking that way.
Also pay very close attention to the power cable where it joins into the bcm. Make sure the connector is fully seated.
Also as mentioned in a few posts Tesa 51608 tape is ideal for covering your new wires and give a nice finished look.
So happy with the finished product...thx again 2022 xlt 2.7l Sport 302a/ software hsw button
gonna agree with you as well, the write was clutch for us 302A boys.

So, this didn't work for me. I saved the as built data and reloaded and made the changes. I have a 2023 Lariat with 501A. I lost ability to control heated and cooled seats, A/C, and the HSW button doesn't work.

Any help appreciated.

What Forscan changes did you make to activate the HSW?

Those listed here in this thread, page 23. I’m most concerned that I have no AC.

OK, detail out what was done and maybe we can figure it out.
What was changed?

Ok, so I backed up my sccm, then removed air bag, steering wheel, and changed out to the new sccm and steering wheel. I had previously checked and I have the wiring in place for the HSW. I then uploaded my saved data for the sccm and made the ForScan changes. This was 2 days ago. Last night I backed up my HVAC control module and replaced the hvac module and uploaded the saved as built data. I then made the ForScan changes to the hvac, apim, ipma.

I had AC yesterday after I made the sccm changes.

I also added the Hill descent control and made the forscan changes for it. It works just fine and I have rock crawl mode now too.

I did upload my previously saved version, but don’t see how that makes a difference. The data should be the same.

My plan is to take it down, remove the new hvac, put in the old hvac, run a new ID scan, save the HVaC and then swap them out again, upload the new saved data, then see where I am.

Doesn’t make sense that the programming would take away the AC as it worked in my old unit. I’m hoping I didn’t bend a pin. Maybe didn’t get a connector seated well.

Ok, not sure the HSW works and I might need to run the power wire. But all HVAC controls work even the HSW lights up and the symbol appears on the sync screen. It is 92 here so, might not be able to feel it as the temp is set to 95.

I'm pleased and appreciate all the work that has been done to help get this upgrade going.

Thoughts on whether I need to run a power wire?

I have the 2 wire connector coming to the back of the SCCM that coincides with the inside of the SCCM that the HSW plugs into.

I do think its adaptive. I've noticed mine warm up and cool down then come back up when i first put it in a month ago. Id maybe wait till the evening, go for a drive and cool the cab off then try it out. With already having the two pins in the SCCM it would seem to be issue with it not sending the voltage out to the heater. but that seems strange given you are getting the indicator.

I think it was just hot and not enough difference to notice
