Wanted to give everyone a heads up on price changes. As of today, 01-Dec-2023, the SCCM ML3Z-3F791-BB is $59 from Tasca, sub $100 everywhere else. Unfortunately the HVAC module WITHOUT lcd screens NL3Z-19980-S has jumped up drastically to $350.

I was checking yesterday and they were $200 and $100 respectively. Wish I would have jumped on the HVAC module then. Guess I'll just add the HSW button to the climate side screen.
Good to know. It honestly easiest to just enable the screen button and be done with it versus digging into the dash to swap the HVAC and everything that goes along with it. A lariat is pretty simple swap, but XLTs and lower are running into fits depending what features their seats have and not and what features want to work like they should.

If I remember right, Jesse said that the hvac module requires the DSM (drivers seat module) for the lariat hvac panel to work right

It'll work without the DSM, but it's got to be programmed accordingly. The cooled option won't do anything.

Correct, you pretty much have to config the DSM to match how the HVAC is setup, that way they are both sending and receiving the same messages. The DSM will think it has heated and/or cooled seats, but they aren't actually in the seat.

In trucks w/ no DSM, but with heated seats like XLT or 401s, the HVAC unit outputs the seat heat power to the seats directly -- it's an odd choice how it's done. W/ no DSM there's nothing to program (in the DSM) as it's not there. I've seen 4 different non DSM trucks accept and power the seat heat w/ the HSW/H/C HVAC unit with no DSM present.

Looks Like I have ordered the wrong combo of parts for my RCSB XLT. I ordered PN# ML3Z-3F791-BB and it came with the power column switch on the side. This switch is easily removable so I thought I would try it but the majority of my steering wheel switches won't work. Anyone have some guidance on a PN# that is correct to do the HSW swap on my XLT mid with auto wipers?

Edit- This is indeed the correct PN#

Did you save the factory as builts from your stock SCCM and download them into your new SCCM?

Ok. In response to all you fellas that provided comments and help, this is a "Reply to all". Too many to tag!
I FINALLY got the HSW to work. I backed out ALL Forscan changes and reloaded each module codes in efforts to make the "replacement HVAC" (with HSW button and Heated & Cooled seats). It still proved to be in vain. I reinstalled my stock HVAC (with only the 3 stage heated seat buttons) and once I did this my seats began working again, AND the HSW now works!
I am NOT saying the replacement HVAC is not compatible with the XLT 302A. I may still have not set all module parameters correctly. But I did everything everyone suggested and in different orders.
I can only share that if you have an XLT with ONLY heated seats, trying to make an HVAC with heat & cool buttons work may be futile. ?‍♂
Moving on... I loaded the Superduty climate screen to access the HSW soft button and played with the heat all the way to work - even if it was in the 60's this morning. It doesn't feel as warm as my Mustang's wheel though. I'll have to play with the SCCM temp settings now.

Thanks again for all the responses and help!
I have an XLT with heated seats. I tried 2 different HVAC modules with buttons for heated and cooled seats. I could not get them to turn on the heated seats. I am pretty sure that the heated and cooled seats have their own module in 1 of the seats and thus it is not present in the HVAC module and thus won’t be able to turn on heated seats in an XLT truck. There was another person I believe in the beginning of this thread that had the same issue.

You can't just drop them in. If they're programmed already (aka used), you can forscan the change in. Some modules come from the factory without programming on them, and without FDRS, you're not going to get them to work.

I went in Forscan and made the changes necessary to all the modules but could not get either lariat level HVAc module to turn the heated seats on. I did not see the conversations above until after I posted my recent comment.

My question is how do you program the HVAC module to work without a DCM in an XLT truck utilizing an HVAC module from a Lariat truck?

Do you have FDRS with an appropriate cable to run it?

I have a Mongoose plus which I believe should be adequate but I have not used it yet. I have pretty much stuck to Forscan.
That's a lot of money to spend on a cable just for use with FORScan. Do you intend to eventually dive into FDRS?

Question about the soft HSW button on the side screen. I noticed it stays red even after it times out. I set mine to 39 degrees and 20 minutes. It shuts off after 20 minutes but the icon remains red.
Has anyone noticed this and have you found a way to make it clear?
