Hey guys, when you plug into Pin 15 on the BCM, did you have to add a fuse to get power to that pin, or is the pin already supposed to be HOT when the ignition is ON? Also do you just push the terminal into the back of the BCM connector C2280A?

in the circuit function diagram it says PIN 15 - FUSE 36 or CIRCUIT BREAKER. Just double triple checking before i mess with anything!!

I installed my steering wheel and Sccm and new hvac controls today. Everything works great except I have no heated seats anymore for some reason. The indicator lights work on the hvac control but no heat. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? I ran the power wire to the location in picture below. Could I have knocked a heated seat wire loose? Is it in that same connector or is likely a forscan hvac programming issue? I’m stumped.

You should be fine. You have the 15a fuse in 36.

Thanks John!

Is there a special way that the pin is supposed to go in? I see there is a bit of an angle on the front face.

Appreciate the help! For anyone else reading this strongly recommend reaching out to John if you need help sourcing a harness.

It will only go one way and you can use the one next to it for reference.
Here is a picture WITHOUT the heated steering wheel pinned.

This is by far the easiest of all the pins to do, HCM pins are a nightmare.

Hey guys. Trying to make heads from tails here. So much information and sometimes conflicting answers as the thread developed.

I have a May, 2023 build F150 Lariat 501a. It was supposed to come with the heated steering wheel per my build sheet until the chip shortage deleted it. My questions are as follows:

1.) Do I need to pull the airbag and/or steering wheel off to confirm if I have the wiring portion in the truck already?
2.) What parts do I need: Heated wheel, SCCM, ? HVAC panel only if I want the button?
3.) If I may be so bold, can someone provide the correct part numbers for my truck? I do not have power tilt

Thank you in advance!

I didn’t think the lariat mid came with a heated steering wheel at all. Is there a standalone package that you purchased that was supposed to include it?

I'm in the same boat as you with my new 23 501A, lists less heated wheel on the sticker, even though I don't even think 501A come with heated wheel... I'm about to start tearing into it so will see what is there and isn't behind the steering wheel real quick. I almost want to say it might be prewired already as I can see a wire in the column going to about where the power wires should, but will need to check for sure.

I've seen this mentioned earlier in the thread. When I put my order together, and now when going through a build and price on the Ford website, it says heated wheel is included. It doesn't specifically mention it under the mid package description, but if you scroll down to interior options list, heated steering wheel is selected and says included. I don't think Ford would willy-nilly give a $150 credit on trucks for heated wheels if they weren't suppose to come with one. My window sticker does indeed include a credit for heated wheel delete.

So I decided to help myself a bit more and found what I think are all the part numbers to work on my Lariat. These are current prices. F me for not buying at least the heated wheel back a few months ago when I started looking and when the price of the wheel was roughly $150 :-/

PART DESCRIPTIONPART NUMBERSELLERPRICEQUANTITY
HAVC PANELML3Z-19980-KFairway Ford$361.001
SCCMML3Z-3F791-BBFairway Ford$195.751
STEERING WHEELML3Z-3600-RAFairway Ford$479.001
STEERING WHEEL BOLTW721079-S437Fairway Ford$3.751

I will probably pull my airbag and see what's in there before ordering anything.

I feel your pain. Put this project on the back burner when the wheel tripled in price.

I’m looking at the spreadsheet from forscan. I have a 23’ PB xlt 302A that I’m adding the wheel to. Does anyone have the step by step directions to add the super duty screen and then add the soft button?

I did pull my airbag off over the weekend. No unconnected plugs inside the wheel area, so the wheel can't be heated. I did confirm what I already assumed true, that the SCCM is "blank" for the heated wheel. Still nice to confirm it 100% especially considering how easy it is to pop the airbag out.

I think so, you can verify this by checking your BCM, recalling from my (terrible) memory, I think it’s pin 15 on connector C2280A. Buts it’s been a while so someone may need to correct me on that.

If there’s a wire going into that pin on that connector, you should be able to simply add the steering wheel and do some forscan updates.

Also check that your SCCM has the pins populated on it as well. (Should be 2 pins on the back, the side facing away from the driver, and 4 pins on the front)
