idk.. 50 gallons of gas can get someone pretty far. If I use 9mpg as a typical towing number, that's 450 miles of range when towing on the highway. It'll get me to Mid Ohio, Pitt Race, Watkins Glen, and VIR without a re-fuel.

Ford's 36 gallon fuel tank on the non PB models is satisfactory too. I wouldn't bother with an aftermarket replacement with a 36 gallon factory tank.

GM's factory gas tank capacity is just pitiful.
You’re right about the PB towing range. Its mpg is right down with the other gas pickups. The 30.6 gallon is certainly decent but 300 miles per fuel up is about it. I plan to tow an RV trailer so the 7.2kW was the shiny object I had to have.

Agreed. I really liked the 5.0 Coyote.

You are correct about the cost. I believe a replacement 5.0 Coyote long block is around $9,000 to $10,000. A replacement 5.3L or 6.2L is anywhere from $2500-$2800.
I have always held firm in my stance if you own a business and tow 4,000-7,000 lbs regularly the 5.0L V8 is second to none in the half ton segment. It’s the best blend of reliability, power, and mpg. My buddy who owns a roofing business and tows a 18 footer has both a 2020 5.0 and a 2023 PowerBoost. What he is finding is that the 5.0 gets upwards of 3 MPG better towing his enclosed trailer on the 56 minute commute to the running 75 MPH. It’s such a spread he’s begun to just leave the PowerBoost at home.

I am always impressed by the mpg my 5.0 returns towing my enclosed trailer loaded.

My brother has a 2009 black Denali with a 6.2 and he likes it cause it’s paid for. He also tells me to put the phone away and get on the damn boat ?

I’m just kidding. Not about his truck. Just about what I’m doing while a chat lol.

I thought of one, I do like the camera mirror GM runs on upper trims. Nothing obstructs it.

Here's one feature Ford and GM both messed up on...

Ford once had it (but now restricts it to higher trims) and GM never had it. 2.0kW inverter in a lower trim pickup. It's not a novel idea but would have been useful to be able to run a portable 5 gallon air compressor off of it on a track day. Franky, Ford's inverter will probably only do about 1.3-1.4kW continuously.

Can’t believe nobody has said the crab walk feature! Not!

Gotta be the dumbest gimmick any car company has come up with in years.

Prolly comes in handy when they’re packing them tight in the shop for lifter replacement but on the streets I’d be pointing and laughing. 4 wheel steer is for lawn mowers ya dummies!

I mean, walk only comes on EVs, so I doubt they're getting any lifters replaced.

MXWORK said something about an easy bake oven. Great addition to a console that no competitors will have.
nah, it's too hard to find the incandescent bulbs they use these days!

I'll add non-GM feature. I have always thought the RAM outside bed storage is a neat idea for normally wasted space.
that's one feature that makes me think that maybe I should continue waffling about the ramcharger . . .

What/why are you checking for on your watch when you are looking to pass people?
he dozed off waiting while using his hourglass, dropped it, and now it's broken!

I thought the “Good Lord that POS 5.3 is slow!” impression I was trying to convey was obvious. Waiting for a coyote to spin up is bad enough, but that little Chevy motor geesh ?

I don't think there's anything GM offers that I wish for. I would fancy the full roll down back window offered on the Toyota though. I never knew about this until I saw my neighbor had his open. Very Cool!

I wouldn’t mind having the G80 option like GM offers on all their trucks(or Rams ZF differential for that matter) vs the E locker that Ford has on most of these trucks. That being said I would also prefer Rams ZF 8spd over the 10R80 as well.

That's an interesting perspective.

Naturally aspirated engines usually have a more responsive throttle than turbocharged engines. In fact, it's usually turbo lag that is an issue in terms of waiting for something to "spin up".

It's why the naturally aspirated BMWs like the E36, E46s, and E92s M3s are so much more engaging to drive despite being down on power compared to the turbocharged F80s and G80/87 M cars.

I've found that it hasn't changed my preferences in a pickup. The 5.0L from Ford and the 5.3.L/6.2L from GM to be far more fun and engaging to drive with its linear power delivery than the EBs or EB variants.

GM's G80 rear locker is not that great. I'd either prefer a helical gear limited slip or a tried and true locker like the one Ford offers in the F150.

For my own use, I'd probably prefer a helical gear limited slip rear diff.

I find the PowerBoost in sport mode with the instant torque provided by the HVB to be incredibly responsive even at very low rpm. The NA V8’s need to “spin up” into the meat of their torque curve. My torque curve is meaty from the jump.
