You and me both, sir. IPMA update takes long, too, and will most likely erase my turn signal cameras while towing, which means hours to CAN the IPC in, hours to update the IPMA, and then hours to add the turn signal cameras back in (if it's even possible). Honestly, I'd rather have turn signal cameras than BC 1.3.Just waiting until I have to CAN another IPC update... ?
Requires side-loading software from a Super Duty IPMA onto the F150 and then making some FORscan changes to activate the feature. It's not something anyone can do. I had help to get it done to my truck. How do you add Turn signal Cameras ?
The geniuses at Ford think $800 a year for system that can only drive hands free on the interstate is a good deal. Look at what Tesla is doing for a one time $15k fee. Ford is delusional.I agree if they CAN add it to our trucks they will. It's all about the subscription money. People pay stupid money for TV streaming apps and never cancel them. If Ford gets the price reasonable enough then people will get on board with subscription services. I can see a "lifetime" plan for stupid money being an option too. Or you get it as needed with a subscription you'll forget to cancel.
No yelling from me. I have basically BC now with the adaptive cruise truck can easily drive itself. I agree it's very cool but no way I'd pay money for something I rarely use.The geniuses at Ford think $800 a year for system that can only drive hands free on the interstate is a good deal. Before you yell at me, I have blue cruise and think it's pretty cool, and was contemplating renewing back when it was 3 years for $600, but $800/year is simply dumb.
So point of clarification for me, does ACC work when not on the highway? Will the truck let it engage? No yelling from me. I have basically BC now with the adaptive cruise truck can easily drive itself. I agree it's very cool but no way I'd pay money for something I rarely use.
Bluecruise is subscription based. So point of clarification for me, does ACC work when not on the highway? Will the truck let it engage?
Call me ignorant, but since when does BC cost 800/yr? I thought the trucks either have it or dont have it.
I don't think that is required. I never had to flash the SD software to get Turn-Signal Views while towing. It just required the newer version of the Tree Runner app which is part of the newer IPMA software which I believe is running on the 23s and I think ford pushed it out to some 22s a few weeks ago.Requires side-loading software from a Super Duty IPMA onto the F150 and then making some FORscan changes to activate the feature. They would be more likely to get subscribers if they let you subscribe for a month at a time as needed.Bluecruise is subscription based.
The subscription is prepaid when the truck is purchased.
I don't know if I have seen anyone yet report that their Bluecruise subscription has ran out and they have paid Ford to renew.
I suspect that market forces will determine what the real co$t for renewal will be.
Perhaps it wasn't SD software.....maybe it was 2023 F150 software. Like I said: I had help to get it done. It goes beyond my scope of knowledge.I don't think that is required. You should be good with the TSVs once you get the BC1.3 IPMA software
I would love to have this feature on my 2021 platinium especially when towing ?Perhaps it wasn't SD software.....maybe it was 2023 F150 software. Like I said: I had help to get it done. It goes beyond my scope of knowledge.
