Yes, I've seen that 'click-bait' ad on MSN before and wasted 1 minute of my life watching it.....gas stations get all their gas from regional tank farms or bulk storage facilities and then I would presume the specific brand of gas (Chevron, BP, Sunoco) would add their own additives according to their specs or advertisements....it ALL comes from the same pipeline....Cheers
You don't get it. It's the additives or lack of them that make a difference. I stick with what works for me and trying to squeeze a dime out of a dollar is a fool's game. Cheap gas + Cheap oil= short life span.

When I switched from Chevron to Mobil a month ago the idle became smooth instead of a little choppy. So, as long as that remains true, I conclude Mobil is a little more compatible with my truck.
I have burned Chevron for many years with no issues but since day one the 5.0 idled rough.

I guess not!

The only thing I do get is that MSN has far too many 'click-bait' ads that increase their profit margin with little to no useful information....Cheers!

Get what?

According to your link virtually every major gas station in America is going to ruin your car.

I agree most of them are time wasters but I never think everyone is a fool except me so I look and judge for myself especially when it comes to food ratings.

Is that what you conclude? Good for you.

Agree, if its something important to me, my lifestyle, family or safety and security, I research it....Gasoline, not so much. I've been a consumer of gasoline, all types, for over 60 years and never really had a problem, even with my '23 PB with over 30,000 miles....however, since I live near a Costco and a Sunoco, those are primarily the only two brands I use. Cheers!

Just run a bottle of Redline Si-1 every oil change and call it a day. Correct if I’m wrong but don’t most brands of Premium fuel have more additives than regular anyway?

Octane is an additive, Ethanol is an additive, so maybe. Depends on the amount detergent and other additives.

Additives may increase gasoline's octane rating, thus allowing the use of higher compression ratios for greater efficiency and power, or act as corrosion inhibitors or lubricants. Other additives include metal deactivators, oxygenates and antioxidants.

Yeah, I was actually talking about detergents, etc which is kind of where this whole “Top Tier” thread started. Personally I don’t consider ethanol to be an additive and yes it is used nowadays to raise the octane number but I don’t think that was it’s intended purpose originally.

I live in Las Vegas and have been told all our gas comes in from the same pipeline. Then each brand adds their added package: Example: Chevron uses Techron. So, when someone says a certain gas station is crappy I disagree.

For the most part I agree. The largest contributor to "crappy" gasoline, in a given market, is the age of the gasoline. Low volume stations or stations with leaky storage tanks can result in "crappy" gas.

I work at the major Chevron retailer in Las Vegas. Detergents or lack there of, are the difference.
