Not me personally, and I am not sure how much is posted here, but on the f150forum.com site I know there were a few members that jumped from F-150 to the 2019/2020 RAM, and are back in F-150 for 2021. Most are happy to be back, only indicating a few items they missed.

The air suspension RAMs seem to be liked as far as ride, and that makes sense. I think many just had other issues like lack of engine/driveline power compared to the F-series offerings, the HEMIs are getting long in the tooth.

The RAMs at higher specs also seem to come in often under 1000lbs of payload, which bothers some. You don't have to tow for that to be an issue, as Payload includes driver and passengers and cargo. You can consume 1000lbs of payload with just four big guys and some small stuff in the bed.

In the end GM/Ford/RAM all offer great vehicles. I think RAM trends towards half ton trucks as commuter vehicles and make choices around suspension and that which prioritize ride over capability. GM has been on kind of a kick of just offering the most capability, but interior refinement is lacking. F-150 kind of rides the line of both, new interiors are great, ride is improved, but it still feels like a truck at times. On the other end, it can handle heavier loads than most comparable RAM 1500s in the bed and cabin, and one big thing for me is the big 12" screen is mounted horizontal so you still have physical buttons underneath, I couldn't stand the vertical mounted RAM screen, even if it is nice to look at.

Went from a 2019 Ram 1500 back to the current 2021 F150. I came back to the F150 because I had an issue with the steering in the truck making a weird vibration when I would turn corners. Sometimes it was barely noticeable, other times it sounded like the front end was about to explode. Was able to duplicate it for the Ram mechanic who said it was something in the steering box. Next day dealership called me and told me that it is has been a known problem for over a year and that there was nothing they could do to fix it.

As far as the truck itself I loved the interior, other than the seats. The seats got uncomfortable when on a long ride. The interior overall I think is nicer than the F150. The ride of the Ram was alot smoother but I went from an F350 to the Ram (4X2) to the F150 (FX4).

Not from personal experience because I didn't own either (waiting for my first truck every to be built in KC :)), but I will never buy a vehicle with a turn-knob transmission....
At least as long as it is within my control.

I own a 2020 Escape with the turn knob trans selector and thought I wouldn't like it. I was wrong. I got used to it and it doesn't bother me to use it. My 2021 F150 has the console shift and I like that a lot. Personal preferences. I get it.

21 & 22F150 limited, 21 Ram 1500 limited EcoDiesel
I own both. I had 2014 f150 limited then 2018 f150 I have as a current ford. Also have 2021 ram limited with diesel.

I dropped both from 22” rims to 18” for ride comfort in city.

after dropping to 18” with Michelin tires Ram is nothing but a luxury car in city. Interior finish is way better then Ford even compare to 2021 F150

on 18” rims still you can feel bumps in F150. If you buying a truck north of 80k you are looking for comfort. Interior finish in gen 14 is still subpar.

ford shines in powertrain options. Diesel is expensive in many areas as much as 60-70 cents per gallon so you can not say a better mileage engine is available in Ram. With $3200 upgrade, diesel will take forever to recover upgrade cost. Only good advantage is less trip to gas station with larger fuel tank.

seats in Ram are not comfortable for longer trip. Ford has much comfortable seats plus having massage option in higher trims makes long trips much easier.

I do not use truck for heavy towing so my experience and expectations are on comfort side.

Financially Ram Can be 8-10k cheaper in higher trims.

I have never owned a f150, I have one on order, I do own a 2 rams now , I have zero problems with my rams runs smooth as silk no rattles what so ever and they are super quiet and tight like a drum, from what I read on line even the 2021 f150 are not match to the ram interior quality and smooth ride, however ford is more capable truck in terms of payload and towing with dos not matter to me because I dont use my trucks for that, to be totally honest I am a little nervous going from ram to ford ,from what I can find online looks like fords have more quality interior problems than ram do.

That’s funny. I actually had talked to a Ford Engineer after driving his Mach E and one of my complaints on the F-150 was the giant shifter because it makes the cup holders really far away and also it’s over engineering the mechanical shifter to make it fold down for the workspace.

I was basically like “why don’t they just use a shift knob like they do in the Mach E”, and he was like “I agree with you it’s terrible but truck drivers love them and there is enough consumer research out there saying there would be a revolt if we changed them”.

Personally my favorite drive selector is the Mercedes stalk because it’s simple and gets the job done without taking up cabin space, but I am fine with the dial style also. Either way though I do think you need a manual shift option, but I would much rather paddle shifters anyway. I hate the +/- on the shifter. I much prefer paddle shifting generally, though if it’s going to be on the shifter I prefer the style that was on my GTI where you move it to the right to engage manual mode then just push forward or back to shift up and down. The thumb shifter is terrible.

I haven't tried the Mercedes so this is just from vehicles I have tried, but I would love a version of Lincoln's, at least recent ones I have driven like the Natilus. They have just individual buttons in a vertical arrangement to the left of the Sync screen. That was fantastic. It took up zero room from cupholders and all that, and even though we only had it for three days, I could change from park to drive to reverse and all that without looking at the button, which is my biggest complaint with the knob selector.

The F-150 interior has more than enough room to just have the drive select buttons. If people need to lock out gears or whatever, give us paddle shifters. Even the knob approach seems like it takes up space pointlessly. A button setup like Lincoln uses space that is empty normally. I have never run into a situation where a physical console or steering stalk mounted shifter improves anything that the button setup wouldn't do just as well.

Been trading back and forth between F150 and Dodge / Ram for years. Like both. My 2019 Ram 1500 Limited 4X4 eTorque had a better interior than my 2021 F150 Platinum 4X4 Powerboost except for the infotainment screen orientation. The ride was better with the Ram air suspension. My biggest complaint would be the engine power, or lack of. Ram should use the bigger hemis in the standard models. The F150 Powerboost gets significantly better economy than I got with the 2019 Ram.
But I still like both. Yes, I wish the dumb shifter would go away. Got used to the knob on the Ram and I have the knob with my Explorer. Shoot, even the GT500 comes with a knob now.

One of my coworkers bought a new RAM a few years ago and had to spend THOUSANDS of dollars on Mopar's famous transmission problems shortly after his warranty was up.

I was surprised since Dodge is no longer an American company and is now owned by a company famous for the electrical horror shows but NOT transmission issues.

I have NO DOUBT that there are many, many people who have had problem free RAMs but over the years I've heard way more Mopar horror stories than Ford so I went with the F150GEN14.

Now if they would just build it.

...but I know they're doing "the best they can".

FORD is AWESOME!

I love console shift, ordered mine with one. Just as knob control, will never buy a vehicle with steering column shifter :D

I custom ordered a totally loaded 2019 Ram Rebel in early 2018. I loved this truck but was irritated that at the time I couldn't get the 12" screen, the adaptive cruise control, the top 18 speaker stereo, ambient lighting, etc that for some reason wasn't available on early Rebel builds even though it stickered at over $62k. It was very quiet and rode smooth for a truck. It handled great with the air suspension especially after I updated 18x8.5" wheels to Fuel 18x9 with an added Helwig swaybar. It always self leveled even when overloaded with a full ton of woodstove pellets! I added Magnaflow cat-back exhaust which was very cool with the hemi rumble, but eventually got old as it switches to 4 cylinder mode and then sounds goofy whenever you back off throttle. You could press +/- buttons which would stop the cylinder deactivation but you had to do it every time you started it. Towed well and had great power when driving with lead foot. The stock 33" Goodyear Duratracks performed well and looked beefy. The mileage was horrible even if you drove like grandma. Rarely ever got even 14 mpg. Never had any issues except mysterious dead battery twice. I think it updates software at night and sometimes will run battery low trying all night to successfully update if it fails. I had it for 3 years and only 14k miles. Got bored with crappy mileage and sick of exhaust burble when in 4 cylinder deactivation. Heard about Powerboost and 7.2kw generator and ordered up a totally loaded Lariat 4x4. It only has 1300 miles, but I am in love! Very quiet and rides a bit floaty that I am sure some good shocks will fix. I am not going to lift it as I want to keep getting 22+ mpg so I might lower the rear only by either removing 4x4 blocks or Ford Performance lowering shackle kit, or maybe both. Have had for 2 months and very happy with everything. No rattles, no faults. My last Ford was a brand new 1997 F250 Light duty in the new F150 3 door supercab with 7 lug wheels. It had a 5.4 triton engine with a E40D old carryover transmission. Very slow downshifts and just lackluster overall. The 14 gen truck makes that truck look like a model T. I bought a Ziegler Ford warranty for 8 years, 100,000 miles, zero deductible, first day rental car, and all lighting assemblies covered for $2130 that is fully transferable. Should have a great resale value!!! Very happy! This truck has all the goodies Ram wouldn't let me have on my Rebel. Looks like a 747 cockpit at night.

Had a 2019 Laramie and the interior was very nice. Better than Lairat trim for sure. The 12 inch screen is junk between out of date maps and low resolution/dated graphics and fonts. The ride is car like but you also tend to feel more bumps. The F150 rides like a truck or more similar to a 4 wheeler where you feel like you could actually go off road. I didn’t consider ever taking the Laramie off road with the 22 inch rims. Lots of small quality issues: water in lights, grinding differential, squealing breaks, etorque issues.
The ram sucks as far as tech goes, way behind ford.

Got 16 MPG with the Hemi and about 6-7 mpg towing a 6k Travel Trailer.
