The 5.0 in a RCSB should come with a neck brace.
That's all I know...
That 10 speed tranny makes it seem like a nice, smooth little powerful engine.
But when you stomp on it at 60mph and the tranny IMEDIATELY goes from 10th gear to 2nd gear... MY GOD!
I don't know about the big trucks or the...
I do!
...because "Ford" couldn't give a rats ass about your business.
I waited for EIGHT months for my truck and never heard ANYTHING from Ford.
"You'll get your damn truck when we're good and ready to build it" was "my" takeaway.
After EIGHT months of sheer torture the one silver lining is that by the time they finally got around to building my truck, many of the "Gen14" bugs were already worked out.
My sales rep was all jacked to go over all the bells & whistles with me when I picked up my truck.
I just said... "dude, I've has EIGHT fcuking months worth of forums & YouTube videos to learn far more than YOU know about this truck. Just give me the damn keys!"
He was happy to get an early lunch!
No.. I couldn't see the need for that although in retrospect.. I wish I had just for resale value.
I didn't get that or sliding rear window (they were having leak issues at the time)... the power tailgate (I can manually lower my damn tailgate!) and Block Heater because it never snows where I...
lol
I know huh... I showed that to my Toyota obsessed buddy and he was amazed!
He's going to the mountain top with me this weekend.
I think I might just turn him yet!
Even with these ridiculous "street" tires they put on at the factory.
The only "regret" I can think at this point is regret (or maybe sympathy) for your buddies who didn't buy a 5.0 RCSB Ford F150!
The RCSB isn't "luxury vehicle" like the "Platinum" (etc...) $80K Land Yachts.
It's a "TRUCK"! In the purely traditional sense of the word.
But it sure is a pleasure...
7 years, 70K miles $1,900.00ish.
Added 30 buck to my 0% FoMoCo loan so it was a no brainer.
The way things are going... by the time I make my last $500.00 payment... that $500.00 will be worth $200.00!
A good point my rep mentioned AFTER I purchased was "who knows where these parts are coming...
I only have 200 street miles so far and I'm trying to baby it somewhat during break in.
Headed to the mountain top for the real test this weekend. I'll update after that.
But I do have to say... I'm SHOCKED by how damn fast this thing is! I went to pass someone yesterday, stomped on the gas...
But... the "rest of" FORD is AWESOME!
No I "squeaked", "howled" turned red hot and melted.
More like "the squeaky wheel who pretends like he enjoys it without lube" gets the grease.
FORD is AWESOME!
lol... "long wait"?
I went into my local Ford dealer to buy my new RCSB a YEAR AGO next week!
When I told him what I wanted he said he didn't have anything like that and doubted that anyone would.
But since my dealer is the complete opposite of "high pressure" (a freak of nature) he offered...
Reading all these posts I can see why Ford offers the choice.
People are very passionate about their decision either way.
Which means (to me) that you can't go wrong either way!
After having owned a few Mustangs over the years... I'm pretty comfortable with the 5.0 even though I know the one...
I've read that upgrading the factory speakers makes a huge difference but that's pretty low on my priority list. I mostly listen to AM radio for traffic, etc.. when I'm driving on asphalt.
And when off roading I like to be able to hear what's going on around me.
There was a period of time when they said you could delete A.S.S. but by that time it was too late to make any changes on my order so I have it.
But... there are times when I DO want it. I just don't like the fact that it defaults to "on" every time you start your truck.
So I ordered this...
I WISH I had known about Granger EIGHT MONTHS ago!
I have 250,000 frequent flyer miles and I would have GLADLY booked a free flight to pick up my truck from Granger!
Oh well...
FORD is AWESOME!
I have heated seats in my Caterpillar. Honestly.. I find them more annoying than "comfortable". I have remote start so my cab will be plenty warm by the time I climb in.
Canceling the Bronco must have been difficult. They are REALLY awesome!
