Do they even sell the 2024 TPMS without the back camera. The $1200 cost is too pricey

according to the order guide, it comes with the base XL up (unless you mean tmps for the trailer)

Truly disappointed by my 2024 F150 not recognizing 2021 original Ford TPMS. I bough winter rims in ‘21 and could not believe the ‘24 F-150 would not recognize them. Even my dealership was not able to reprogram the truck to recognize them.
Programmed obsolescence is very frustrating with Ford products. If only they took in the old TPMS in for a rebate on the purchase of new ones.
Had anyone experienced this Ford scam? Surely they had no technological improvement attached to this obsolescence!
Good to know, thanks for posting.

Note: It's not necessarily a scam as the supply chain can be at issue. That is very possibly the older model could not be manufactured anymore. It happens allot in electronics. Ford does not benefit by making us buy new TPM sensors.

This, plus the 2024 is a refresh and has different electronics throughout.

I also found when I ordered new wheels/tires for the winter months from a local tire company that they use dual frequency TPMS sensors, so they just work regardless of vehicle year. Chose these bronze Fuel rims both for weight as well as complementing the bronze color on my KR.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors from 2023 F15@ and earlier used 315 mhz, in 2024 they switched to 433 mhz.
I'm newer to Fords and recently bought some new winter rims/tires for my F150. I have a 22 Lariat and learned that this being a Covid build, that I may or may not have 315hz sensors, I may have the 433hz sensors as they were more readily available at the time, as this 433hz was generally reserved for trailer tires, to differentiate against 315hz vehicle tires. Turns out, my truck is programmed with 433hz sensors. I ended up buying a good aftermarket sensor that allows both 315hz and 433hz and had no issues programming them to the truck.

No, please.

I much prefer an actual pressure-reading sensor rather than the wonky imputed (estimated) loss of pressure from counting tire rotations.
I've commuted with VWs for 25 years and it is pretty nice to be able to buy any set of rims/tires and slap them on without needing to buy sensors and replace sensors when they die out. Their system works well, it will also compensate speed for larger/smaller tires without a need to reprogramme the system. Why would you much prefer sensors and programming?

My understanding is that they changed the frequency they are picked up on.

Why would you much prefer sensors and programming?
Because
  1. I like having a display of actual direct-reading pressure (PSI) for each tire
  2. I've never had to do any reprogramming when rotating or replacing tires on either of the two Ford or one Honda vehicles I've owned with sensor-in-wheel TPMS (the vehicle 'figures it out' on its own)
  3. Insofar as TPMS, tire size makes no difference, there's no reprogramming involved no matter what size tires are installed
I really like the Ford Accessory sensor-in-wheel TPMS on my RV trailer which reports the pressure and temperature of each tire on my F150's IPC display. Those do require 'training' when the wheels are rotated but it's a simple process taking only a few minutes and does not require any separate tool / programming device (it's done on the IPC menu).

For that to have even a chance of actually working with any accuracy, it would need data on the tires mounted, and probably the wear, and . . .
Works perfectly fine on my wife's 2025 accord. Now, it does not tell you the actual pressure, but if a tire gets much below the others it turns on the tpms light just as it should.

oh, that is doable; under non-psychotic conditions, the pressure changes should be similar amongst the tires, so "different enough" is good enough.

Although ISTR that the rear and front tires heated up differently on my '89 crown Victoria, enough so that I had to spend some time figuring out how much each did. (the factory pressure specs were wildly unusable, to the point of being hard to control the car!)

I am wondering if there's a setting somewhere in the BCM that we can change it back to 315hz. Maybe the pro's on the forum can help us out?

I'm not sure your post is correct regarding 315Mhz for 23 and prior model years, on checking the Ford service manual and Ford parts for 21MY thru 24MY clearly call out the same part number. At 433Mhz
In 2021 Ford changed to 433Mhz sensors on the F150. The system now learns the sensors and positions of the wheels automatically. There is no learning process, and if you swap wheels to other wheels with these sensors if will automatically recognize those sensors as well.

2021 - 2024 part
Ford part number ML3Z-1A189-D
Motorcraft number TPMS101

2020 and prior part number
F2GZ-1A189-G

Follow the link below and scroll down to see the fitment guide. These sensors fit 21 thru 24 at 433Mhz
