Can you do this fully stock and adjust the computer w/ FDRS or Forscan? Thinking Offroad applications… rocking out of sand / ruts / etc

I ask bc I don’t have a tune.

You can't make these types of adjustments to the PCM calibration with FDRS or Forscan, you would need to use something like HP Tuners, SCT, or Cobb tuning software and thier device to modify a stock file and load it into your truck.

For the average person, the best option is to just get a tune from someone that does this professionally.

The Ford Performance tune is probably the worst option as far as customization and power gains are concerned, but you shouldn't have to worry about OTA updates reverting your truck to the stock calibration with the Ford Performance tune.

Not that I saw. Just that the gains were so small. To start with 450hp and go to 466 is very meh. To start with 400 and go to 466 is good enough for some though, seeing as it's a safer setup.

To compare peak power numbers is only considering a very narrow part of the equation. The power everywhere else is coming in quicker and with more, the torque management is reduced. The pcm takes away so much that peak power in a dyno is really showing very little to the whole deal add in shifting and the jerk with real world loads and it’s a whole other ball game

i heard that on the Raptor forums they were.
but as mentioned above...it was the fact that the standard got a huge bump where as the Raptors didnt. Theres been speculation the motors are very very close to being identical and software being the only possible difference and i think FP showed that may be the case

My tune came in on Friday...I'm going to try to set up an appointment today for sometime this week to have ford install it (i know i know but it makes me feel a tiny bit better haha)

Anyway, I am kinda bummed. Not sure if its the gods honest truth but i did call FP and spoke to their customer service Friday.

I asked about the two different dyno charts. The guy on the phone (who was one of the best customer service people Ive spoke to in some time) went and got an engineer and asked him.

According to FP, the media dept put the wrong dyno image under the 3.5L calibration images and it took 2 days before it was caught. which is why it was taken down and then added back.

I asked if the raptor tune would work on a F150 and he said the Raptor tune is VIN specific.

anyway, still not too upset its only 50hp and 10 more peak tq but i know the torque comes in wayy sooner. I hope to have it installed by the end of the week.

It won't add any more driving modes. It will add HP/TQ to all modes, just like the regular tune.

Any feedback on this? Dealer is stating they charge $225 to install this ford performance tune.

$225 to plug into the obd2 port and press a button seems…excessive.
