Ford Message about Emissions control issue

I found a message left on my Ford app stating "The emission control system has detected a blocked or restricted evaporative emissions line which can prevent proper control of the fuel vapors".

I am traveling currently in Moab, UT. I stopped into Performance Ford Of Moab and discussed the notice with their service manager. He was not able to fit me in to their schedule, but assured me that there is nothing to worry about and that I can address this notice with my local Ford dealer when I get back to Washington in a couple of weeks.

Anyone else had this note pop up. Seem okay to deal with this notice when I get home?

Truck appears to run fine and I have had no issues.

I think it popped up with I was trailering some hills a couple weeks ago. I ran my scan tool and cleared a check engine light that appeared. It never came back, so I figured it was okay.

Filled up with too much fuel? As long as the CEL isnt flashing you can make it back. The code should be stored as well unless you erased it

There are a few things that trip that
Evap canister over pressure
Evap can fuel of fuel vice vapors
Over filling tank past shut off
Filling tank afyer long driving in hot regions with low fuel quantity
And filling over with engine running
It should purge out in a few miles of steady state driving
Unless canister is FULL of raw fuel.
That's not supposed to happen..but it can

Thanks guys. I think I might immitate some of those things. I was pulling a trailer up hill when it CEL came on. I have overfilled during this trip in hot weather. (I will stop)

After I cleared the code with the scan tool, it didn't come back. When I get home I will have them check it at a dealership near me.

If you get that issue and it won't start. But turns over.
You can make ecm bypass the issue temporarily by placing throttle flat to floor while starting, it will catch and run rough. And then clear out. Of course regulate rpm once it starts up
This will force a purge of canister

Just had my first run in with this. Out of town with small town gas stations towing a boat. I put non-ethanol gas in for one tank then just standard 76 premium in the next
I’ll report back if I can help anyone but won’t be back for a week so fingers crossed it goes away!

When I brought mine in to have fixed, Ford told me there is a technical service bulletin on it. I think software update. Since then, I haven't had any issue.

If it is the same thing, then don't stop your trip.The first time it happened, the mechanic said it wouldn't break anything...just affect the mileage. When it happened again, I had them look into it deeper when I was having other work done.
