I'm curious for those who are not seeing any change if there's possible updates to the BCM needed as well. When I took mine in a few months back to have the bed camera replaced they found multiple DTC's related to the rear park assist and BLISS that required multiple updates to the BCM and associated modules to get everything working again. It's possible that one of those updates was related to the BMS behavior.

I charged my battery for a full 24 hours. Put it in truck and reset BMS. Battery monitor should full charge and 100% SOC. Next morning battery was at 65% SOC at 12.4volts.

Looking for some clarity.... So, is that to say that the resolution may not be the newer BCM after all, but instead a module update?

It would stand to reason that if there's old charging logic in the BCM then updating the BMS to the newer revision could be why some people, yourself included are still seeing undesierable behaviors.

The BMS' role is to monitor the 12v charge levels as well as current into and out of the battery and relay that back to the BCM. The earlier revisions were reported to have issues with this by incorrectly reporting values to the BCM. The BCM module then uses the logic coded in the firmware to determine how much curent to push back to the 12v system to maintain the set SOC levels. If there's an issue with the charging logic, or BCM itself then that could explain what's going on.

Another possible thing happening here is high levels of parasitic drain on the 12v system well after key off has occurred. The only way to know if this is in fact happening would be to put some sort of 12v monitor or maintainer that tracks how much actual current is pushed to the battery over a period of time and check it after being connected overnight to see what has happened.

Gods I miss old school alternator charging systems. So much simpler and no need for all this computer crap.

Is the battery voltage low? Yes? Then charge it...

Come on Ford, how hard it that to figure out?

With the piss poor charging strategy and some people reporting the new BMS has no affect, I guess the only solutions are to monitor the SoC and charge with an external charger as needed or replace batteries every year.

I don't remember exactly when I did it (but I think sometime around April), I updated all of my modules using FDRS. The only module that was not updated was the one that needs a dealership's password. FYI.

My 2022 Powerboost is only one example, of course. But it was fully updated (BMS) up until the recent FDRS lock was put on the updates. But that lock was AFTER the charging strategy update that Ford released in 2024(?).

My point being is that not all Gen14 F150's are still running on the original anemic charging strategy. Although the updated charging strategy wouldn't necessarily be described as aggressive, it has proved to be far superior to the earlier strategy.

At least this particular truck no longer needs any external charging sessions to keep the 12V Ford SOC at a healthy value, even with 2 weeks or more of parking the truck.

Note that it IS a Powerboost, so doesn't necessarily translate to an F150 with a traditional alternator or a single battery.

My truck charges at 14.5 soon as it’s turned on. I run a battery monitor so I can see. I have good resting voltage at 12.46. SOC drops 30% over night. It’s sitting at 65% daily. Will hit 90% on the drives. I charged battery then also did the repair function. Then recharged to make sure was fully charge. Reset BMS nothing improves.

For AGM, a resting voltage of 12.46 is fairly healthy. Certainly the SOC is higher than 65%, but Ford's SOC is a proprietary value.

For a regular flooded 12V battery, 12.46V would be in the 60's for SOC though.

I wouldn't be too concerned with having issues with the truck if the actual voltage of the AGM was 12.46V
