My "Build 1" has been in 5x since I bought it (14 months and 16k miles ago). Thus far the dealer has replaced my APIM & TCU, and I'm no closer to receiving any OTAs or resolving my sync/dash resets. In fact, my only "progress" has been in reverse, as I lost all modem connectivity in the truck after the TCU change in January. Since then I haven't even been able to use fordpass app, sync nav or voice recognition.

At the moment I'm awaiting a new gateway module that was expected to arrive sometime in early March. As of yesterday afternoon I'm told that part is "stuck in Memphis", and that I should "check back in another week or two". I really want to be encouraged by this thread, but thus far my experience with this truck has my expectation level set below zero. Fingers crossed.
I too am waiting for a new gateway module. I originally took my truck in back in December because I was not getting any OTA updates, I could not activate the “automatic updates” button in settings, my zone lighting was not working and was all grayed out

It turns out that I have a bad gateway module and they can’t give me info when a new one can be delivered to the dealer. They put in an emergency warranty request with Ford and I called the corporate number to explain my frustrations with this whole situation.

supposedly that is why the TSB update kept failing.

so now just waiting for a new gateway module.

So I went to the dealership today to get the TSB accomplished and get my OTA functionality back. Service advisor said they had just received word from Ford to discontinue accomplishing TSB 22-2117. He said they were encountering issues and to stand by for further direction. Anyone else hearing about this?
my dealer said Ford updated the directions to use only CERTAIN brand adaptors for the ethernet dongle etc and so if they don't have the right brand it can fail. That was the third time the dealer has had my truck for this

I had my dealer appointment this morning. I confirmed on Friday I was still on for today's appointment. When I got there they said "Oh, you are here for the BlueCruise update. We haven't been successful yet and have been trying on another truck for over 3 days." Needless to say I did not leave my truck. (n)

So, I'm trying to figure out my next plan.
- Does anyone know of a dealer in Dallas that is competent enough to do this?
- I can buy a mongoose (unless someone has one they are willing to sell/rent)
- I've also thought about trying the Nano and just doing the part that gets the 1.7.1 unstuck, but I'm not sure that is the smartest move.

Anything I'm missing? Ridiculous that I even need a plan B on a $75k truck under 1 year old.

I was hoping that would not be the story you had to tell from Bob Tomes. That is where my Lightning order is. So far the guys inside have been good to deal with.

As far as support in Dallas, you have 2 or 3 of the best guys on this forum offering support local to us. I'm thinking BarBQ and Beer might get you fixed up.

Dropped mine off this morning; dealer said it's their first time doing this, and they've got a Mach-E scheduled right behind me. Fingers crossed.

I posted this in another thread, but here’s a (painfully long) overview of how I did the “stuck OTA” TSB with the Mongoose and ultimately successfully got BC on a Job 1 truck. Feel free to share with your dealer.

Thanks a lot for posting your video on YouTube, it's very useful and complete. I just came back from dropping my truck off at the dealer and I'll post when I get it back in a few days. I'm expecting a couple of speedbumps but they're attempting their first upgrade tomorrow on someone else's truck, so they'll figure things out before they work on mine. Cheers

Dealer couldn't complete the upgrade; it kept crashing at the APIM update. They asked that I bring it back in a few weeks/months. They were able to complete the trailer recall though.

My dealer tech is trying to update my truck now. They called to say that they had to reach out to Ford Engineering for support because they are getting a ton of errors and can't get the updates to apply. Here we go...

No good news from my end either. Dropped off this morning and they did the TCM recall. Now the parking brake won't release and the vehicle is unable to drive. They said they don't even see the TSB 22-2117 in their system to even try to update the OTA 1.7.1 which was the primary reason for going. They were ready when I called last week, so maybe Ford pulled it off the platform (FDRS?)? I'll post updates when I get them.

Still no truck, but the dealer said that the 12v battery was low. Ford engineering says to charge the battery and try and see if that fixes the parking brake issue.

The dealer is saying they have nothing in FDRS to update for the TSB 22-2117. Either they did the update and didn't communicate to the service manager, or Ford pulled it off the platform. I wonder if only some trucks are affected as it seems that some people are still getting the TSB preformed.

If they are getting errors applying the fix. Have them check that the USB to Ethernet adapter they are using is on the Ford approved list, that they began circulating on 4/6. Apparently they have determined some of the adapters do not work in this instance and cause errors.

Ford is really struggling with this whole situation. Months to craft a fix and continued issues applying.
