Dealer told me the same thing, they did not understand they needed specific adapters to do this work. They told me they'd call when the adapter came in to bring my truck back. Overall they were very helpful and honest about the lack of knowledge they had about these updates. Which while discouraging at least was honest.When I made an appointment for the update, I reminded dealer special adapter cables needed, but also order adapters needed from Amazon, just in case. Update failed, tech said Ford related only certain of the correct adapters work. So now awaiting reordered adapters from Ford which dealer didn't have. I am becoming a skeptic. Ford's PR on this issue is terrible!
