I may have to give this a try. Pull fuse #4 from under the hood (fuel pump) and try to start it. If it doesn't start then try to put the fuse back in to make sure it will start again. :)

Down and dirty theft measure but the price is nice. Great for leaving it at the airport if needed.
Have y'all tried this approach for disabling the truck? Any issues after replacing the fuse?

I would imagine just pulling the fuse would do it. I just knew from having a fuel pump relay fail on my Mustang that unplugging it would make it impossible to start my truck and drive off with it.

But I might try that though… just pull the fuse & try to start it.
i know it's an old thread, but i wonder if you can tie the fuel pump fuse to an auxiliary/upfitter switch? so to turn the fuel pump on, switch 1 or whatever number can be flicked on. easy access, hidden and easy to use.

That is the use case I was thinking. Overnight or multiday stays in a lot. I know others who put a kill switch in but then will have to reprogram all their settings.
I tried to take off the fuel #4 but it started anyway. Which one is the fuel fuse on this box?

I tried left bottom- 3 and 4. It started anyway ?

Load your guns and sleep in the back seat. Or just lock it and go about your life. You leave fob in truck that on you

In my 2022 PB owners manual it says the outside box under the hood that fuse #4 30amp is for the fuel pump.

That would make it that pink 30a in the far lower left of this picture, right on the edge.

That’s what I thought! I took that off expecting it wouldn’t start. It started anyway. I was wondering if mine is different.

it didn’t give any error codes or anything. Would it just stop the engine after a while?

:( my insurance would cover less than what I owe on my loan. Just don’t want to get upside down until I pay it off.

It might need you to run for a while so the fuel already in the line is used up. Try it again and if it starts get in the truck and give it a little gas to simulate driving it. That might do it and let us know if that works. Good luck.

So I tried taking off bottom left - pink one and the green one as well. It did not work.
Truck starts and goes. So is this mean fuel pump theory is just a theory? Or I am just not pulling the right one.

Look on the top of fuse box. Should list what one it is.

Starting and staying running are 2 different things. Don't get fooled by the high pressure pump starting the truck.

Well all over the forum keeps suggesting pull out the fuse it would not go. If it is still going to start and go more than 2km what will it do to help.

I think if you give it gas to drive it with the fuel pump inoperable it will only drive for a short distance until the fuel already in the system gets used up. May not be the best deterrent but it could cause the crooks to ditch your vehicle if it stalls and not restart while they are pulling out of the parking lot.

Again not as good as a Revelco or UGLA (sic?) but it is free and not $1200. YMMV.

It’s more like nobody has done it - It seems. And discussion still goes on. I tried. It. It has moved as far as 2km with normal driving and still didn’t stop or give codes.

i also let it idle for 30 mins. I can give it another go but i would not want to damage the truck every time i do this suggested theory if nobody is actually trying it out ?
